It is clean and staffs friendly. It is very easy to get to from the train station. Location is very good for restaurants and shops. It takes 20mins to walk to the old town.

Hostal Cortes was easy to find, being near the bus-stop and bus station and with clear street signage. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, as were those in the breakfast area. To get to the Old Quarter of Cuenca take the bus or walk. Walking is the best way to see this beautiful town, although the way to Plaza Mayor is uphill and takes about half an hour if not stopping along the way.

I had a delightful one-night stay at Hostal Cortes and was thoroughly impressed by the warmth and comfort it offered. If you're looking for a quiet, clean, and centrally located place to stay in Cuenca, this hostal is a hidden treasure! The room was spotless, cozy, and beautifully simple, with two very comfortable beds and just the right amount of space to relax. I especially appreciated the peaceful ambiance — perfect for unwinding after a day exploring the historic old town. The location is fantastic — a short walk from Cuenca’s main attractions, shops, and restaurants. It made it easy to soak in the city’s unique charm without needing transportation. The staff were kind and helpful, offering a smooth check-in and local tips that made my short stay even more enjoyable. Their friendly attitude made me feel genuinely welcomed.
