Hostal Emilio

My first experience with a hostel. The room was small and contained an armoire, two twin size and one full size bed. There was a small bathroom. The shower was so small that It was hard to keep everything inside the curtain. There were no wash cloths but the towels were adequate. The beds were clean and comfortable, and the room was warm enough. It was a very quiet neighborhood and a 7 minute walk to the Metro. It's one stop from the airport. The door deadbolts with a key from the inside. The room was on the second floor and I see no way for a handicapped person to stay here. It was a place to sleep. Next time I will spend more and find a nicer hotel.

Do not book even for Champions League or any football matches. They do not refund your money, never answer the phone, or respond to emails. Use a credit card if you have to use them for at least you can use Section 25 or 75 to get your money back

I try not to say unkind things about businesses, however you should skip this place! I just spent 5 weeks in the albergue system in Spain, municipal & private & a few hostels. This is the worst for the most! Yes, $25e/per person (3) for a night, spend a little more & find a better place. Yes it was clean, convenient to metro, bus & airport. Lavandria across the street, along with pharmacia, coffee shop, etc. a lot of people returning from The Camino stay in this area, as we did. My friends flew home, I'm moving to a hotel!

The hotel is ok for travellers who just want a place to stay for a couple of days before flying, given that the hostel is really close to the Barajas Airport. Aside that, I wouldn't recommend it to long stay travellers due to it being a little rough; examples of it are the fact that the tv is placed really high on the wall and that there was a cigarrette burned hole in one of the blankets.

Stayed here one night before an early morning flight: minutes from terminals 1&2. We normally stay in the same area but at another hotel, which was full this trip. Good points: clean, free off street parking, cheap, quiet street, easy to locate, free wifi (if very spotty). Bad points: shower was tiny, doors were broken, shower head was broken, plumbing very loud. All in all, we would stay there again, but probably only if all others were full. If you need a cheap place for a night or two, this is a pretty good option if you only want an clean bed and safe parking at a low price. Reasonable Spanish is required. Love the authentic feel of the Barajas neighbourhood; good little restaurants and shops nearby.
