Hostal HPC Portocolom

Just there for food, not staying in the hotel - started off well, good food - a wee hiccup with the order but we didn’t mind that at all as that’s easily done. Following delivery of our main course we became invisible - no drinks, no service, zero manners from the staff. We sat with empty main course plates for 45 minutes, unable to get further drinks or a dessert. When we finally got someone she was incredibly rude and STILL did not bring dessert menus. She was obviously just keen to tidy up and go home. We gave up, paid and left as she laughed with her colleagues. I would never recommend this place to anyone based on the service alone. Everywhere else in Portocolom was incredibly welcoming as well as having great food. This was our experience- you might have a better one with nicer servers, the food was good so this was really disappointing and put a downer on our evening.

Great food, sensible prices, the best people who are keen to get everything right. Really worth eating at HPC and this time my turbot was a full grilled fish and absolutely perfect. Just try it. Wonderful place and my local favourite restaurant

We had a highly enjoyable stay at HPC. The room was big, clean and the beds very comfortable. Service was excellent, we had to add a night to our stay and Natalia made a great effort to accomodate. Very good value and excellent location, would highly recommend.

Good food and good service. For years, it has been a classic restaurant in Portocolom where you can enjoy a correct dinner. To dine here is to dine correctly in terms of price and quality. Friendly staff.

Me and my partner stayed here for 4 nights at the beginning of August as the hotel we were supposed to stay at cancelled our booking. (This place turned out to be half the price too!) There is no official reception area, you check in at a small desk behind the reception area. We were taken to our room, which was in a building across the road and up a flight of stairs. The room has air con which is a big plus. The room was clean and we had two single beds close together. The breakfast selection was very basic, and included the usual cheese, pastries etc. You could also order a cooked breakfast which we did. We got 2 eggs, 2 sausages and tomatoes (which is not everything that was listed on the card) We used the restaurant on two separate occasions for dinner, both times the food was amazing and well presented. If I remember correctly, if you are staying at the Hostal, you get a 15% discount on your meal. We also used the cocktail bar upstairs which I have left a separate review for. We were allowed to leave our luggage locked away in the Hostal building for the day as our airport transfer was quite late in the day. I would like to say thank you again to the staff member who ordered us a taxi on our departure. (We waited over an hour for our airport transfer which never arrived) We would stay again.

We have often enjoyed a lovely meal here sitting by the Mediterranean with good food and atmosphere. this visit was to enjoy cocktails on the upper terrace with beautiful views and listen to a talented singer/songwriter/musician Adam Guerrero while sipping on our delicious cocktails served by the bubbling young ladies who add to the atmosphere. A lovely addition to the staff is Amy. A must visit for a truly memorable evening !
