For a budgeted hotel, everything is good! What’s important for us is the cleanliness of the hotel and the safety of the customer. The room is very clean. Near to the tourist attractions, pharmacy and grocery store. We have a comfortable bed. The cleaner and the girl in a reception area is very kind and willing to assist us. The bathroom is a bit small, but we are small person so it’s ok for us. What’s important is the cleanliness of the whole room. If we will go back to Segovia, we will definitely choose again Hostal Juan 😊.

The room had a fantastic view of the parks and hillsides across the river. Very conveniently located in the old city. Great staff who were very accommodating and helpful.

“Would not recommend if you don’t have local cell access nor checking in before 10 or later than 6pm”

There was no one at location to checkin nor responding to email. Cell provided didn’t have whatsapp, luckily a local called for us and 1/2 hour later they showed up. Parking was 1/3 price of the room and 4 blocks away for a 1 star hostel, total of $115 was way overpriced.

“Perfect location and nothing more”

The main reason one could book this hostal is basically one: LOCATION. It's in the heart of the historic centre of Segovia, just 4 minutes walk to the Acueducto, 2 minute walk to the Plaza Mayor and 8 minutes to the Alcazar. You have tons of shopping and eating opportunities around.

To be improved

There are some details I didn't like very much. First of all, the bathroom is so small one that one can't sit on the toilet because there is no room. It's between the wall and the shower screen and the place is too narrow. Also, the bed was comfortable enough except for the pillows that are too high. My daughter had a neck pain the next day because of this. And last but not least, we were assigned the room next to the reception. Everything was ok until the receptionist arrived and started talking too loud and making noises. We went to bed a bit late so expected to sleep a bit longer than usual. This was impossible because of the excessive noise.
