The A/C doesn’t work properly, it won’t cool the room. There’s a fan on the ceiling that make the room bearable but is a bit noisy during the night. The shower had the drainage issues and the hose had many leaks.

Parking was a bit of an issue - not unusual in these small towns

It was a bit tough coordinating about check-in. There isn't always someone there (or at least at the mentioned times) so you have to arrange to call them in advance to meet up. For international travellers (esp. cause they don't speak English), it is not the easiest to arrange.

I always ensure that the rooms I book have a front desk because too many times I've been left out in the cold at an Airbnb-type place. Figuratively or literally. I walked through a snowstorm to get to the hotel, so you can imagine how disappointed I was that there was a notice on the locked door that I had to call a person to let me in. Fortunately, I still had battery left on my phone, but the big snowflakes pounding on my phone screen made it difficult to call or use Google Maps to get there! By the way, I arrived during the time period I notified them of on my reservation. If I remember correctly, around 5 pm. So I stood in the snow waiting for the woman to let me in. When she got there she did not welcome me or ask how I was doing, looking like the drowned rat that I was. She seemed perturbed that she had to let me in. I tried to make conversation, but she was not trying.
