We were only staying overnight en route to Granada, and being so near to Atocha station and easy to find, it suited us.

To be improved

The lift was a bit scruffy, but the hostal at seven floors up thank goodness there was one.

The room was large enough for an overnight stay, had everything we needed, and it was air conditioned which with the temperature approaching 40DegC was wonderful. They WhatsApp messaged us a few hours ahead of arrival to confirm booking and expected arrival time which was great as our train was late.

To be improved

The lift operation was not intuitive, so I initially had to climb the seven floors to find out how to operate it!

The location is good, close to train station and many of Madrid's attractions. Room was spacious, clean and had air-conditioning.

To be improved

Accessing the hotel is not easy. It would be helpful to know it is only the 7th floor of the building. You need to carry luggage up a short flight of stairs and the lift is very small and slow. The towels we were given were threadbare and ripped. The hairdryer was coming lose from the wall mount. The safe didn't work and could just be picked up and removed.

Was a little hard to find - on 7th floor. Also, registrar had stepped out a minute. We waited, no problem, but maybe a note on door?
