“Bad customer service, rip off”

You get what you pay for, except we didn’t even get that. The town is fine (we knew the deal as it was a cheapie overnight place on a long road trip and didn’t expect much). Please don’t listen to the racist reviews saying the area is “dodgy” - that’s code for not white and immigrant. We didn’t feel in any danger and found it vibrant and interesting. The mattresses were surprisingly comfortable (the pillows were BAD)

When we arrived our “comfort quadruple” room was 3 beds stuffed into a very small 4x4m room that was clearly meant to be a double room - we had booked (and paid for) a 10 x 10 m family room with 4 beds (there were 4 of us!). Instead of providing either an extra room or the room we had paid for they just added another bed so the whole room was a bed. The “shower” was an attachment on a nasty old bath in the eaves and my husband couldn’t stand up in it. Because there were so many beds in the room we didn’t have headboards and our pillows kept falling off the end of the bed. Communication issues and a lack of customer service meant there was nothing to do but accept this. I expected it to be old and run down (it is) but I don’t like to be ripped off and made to feel bad because I want enough beds to sleep my family. I will be asking booking.com for a partial refund.

“I could store my bicycle inside. · Cons: Found multiple hairs in my bed. Area around the hotel is incredibly noisy and seems to be in the dodgy part of town. Said on the booking page that they spoke English but they did not.”
