The hostel is really nice

Efficient check-in, main contact David was friendly, the whole place was really clean. Nothing to fault in that respect. However, only 1 out of the 4 of us had a hot shower. Unfortunately the rest of us had cold water in the morning. I knew check out time was 12:00 so I was surprised when a colleague of David's called me at 11:40 to let me know that. We were walking back to the hostal after breakfast nearby and when we got back at 11:45 we found the rooms of our doors open and the cleaner working on the other empty rooms. Our bags were still in the rooms so it was an unpleasant surprise. I called David's colleague back immediately to notify him that I was fairly annoyed about this, especially after a morning without a hot shower to top it all, and a not very warm room overnight. He wasn't particularly forthcoming with an apology while David who I later spoke with was. I understand the cleaner needed the room empty by 12:00 and we were out by then. What I find unreasonable is opening our doors before 12:00 and leaving them open while we're nowhere to be seen. It's a shame we had a bad experience because it was our first time there and we may have needed it again in future. It was a high price to pay for not feeling very warm overnight, having cold showers in the morning and then finding our doors open before check-out time. David assures me he'll rectify this in future so maybe other guests will have more luck than we did.
