The best

The staff was extremely accommodating. They recovered items items I had forgotten in the room and placed them neatly with my luggage which they allowed me to store even though I had checked out. They also allowed me to use their facilities and rest a while when I returned to retrieve my luggage.

To be improved

The bed that I slept on was well past its useful life. Not sure if the mattress or the bed spring were the culprit or possibly both.

The best

I would not recommend or stay here again. I was let down as I read so many good reviews hence why I booked. I only needed one night as I was in Barcelona for 2 days. I booked as apparently this place looked very clean and would pass the ‘white glove test’ well that was a lie. Hair everywhere, used tampon on the floor, ants and silver fish in the room. After walking 25,000 steps there was no hot water!!! Had to shower in freezing cold water. No apology or communication from the staff! £130 for one night is very expensive and now I know you can get much better for that price. Will be back to Barcelona but never here. I wasn’t expecting anything luxurious but atleast for water 🤦🏻‍♀️also we were in the same floor as reception. Don’t expect sleep. Very loud.

Dropping the key off every time you leave is a bit annoying. A key card would make more sense.

“The Hostel is ideally located in the vibrant Gothic Quarter. Set in a beautiful old building on the second floor and accessible by an old fashion lift. The location is unbeatable—just a short stroll from shops, restaurants, local food markets, La Rambla, Mercat de La Boqueria,the Cathedral, and public transport links including buses and Metro stations. Our room featured a modern air-conditioning system we could control ourselves, which was especially appreciated during the hot weather. The staff were friendly and always helpful. Our room and bathroom were tidied each morning, and fresh towels and soap were provided each day. Overall, this Hostal offered everything we needed for a short and enjoyable stay in the heart of Barcelona,and we would certainly recommend to other guests as well as friends who are looking to go and visit Barcelona. · Cons: We enjoyed our stay overall and appreciated the convenience of the property, though there are a few areas where enhancements could further improve the guest experience. The lift did take a considerable amount of time to arrive when called, and the step on the second-floor exit could pose a tripping risk—it might benefit from clearer signage or slight modifications for added safety. The furnishings and bathroom felt a little dated, and an update could make the space feel more inviting and modern. We also noticed some staining on the bed sheets, so a more detailed inspection prior to use may help maintain the high standard of cleanliness. Additionally, sound insulation appeared to be limited, as we could hear neighboring guests quite clearly during the night. Addressing this could go a long way toward improving comfort and rest”
