“Let down by staff and plumbing.”
The best

The room was nice and clean as was the bathroom.(see below) The meal in the restaurant was nice. Handy position for stop over if on a road trip.

To be improved

The staff weren't very welcoming as I arrived about 20 mins after booking.Arrival time advised beforehand.The only two staff members I saw were in the cafe area having a meal and I assume I interrupted them. I initially thought they were customers as they took several minutes of me standing at the empty bar before they identified themselves. I was asked to show booking on app on my phone as if I wasn't believed.Filled in some info given room key and told the room was on the first floor.I wasn't shown to the room. I bought some tapas and drinks at the bar and later a meal in the restaurant and coffee the following morning.So I spent at least another 50 euros plus the room cost. In dealing with three members of staff during my stay, two were quite distant, dour and unfriendly and the other was downright rude.Customer service is not a high priority in this establishment in my experience. From my time here I observed that lorry drivers and other professional drivers appear to use this facility as a regular stop over.The staff appeared more positive towards this clientele. Although the room (number 5) was clean and tidy as was the bathroom.There was a strong odour from the bathroom as the night progressed. It was a mix of cabbage and stale drains.I kept the door closed, but it meant when I did use the loo,the stench was quite horrible. Not a pleasant experience.I wouldn't stay here again
