Verified reviews from real guests who have already stayed here.
Many mentions of a convenient location near the beach and tram.
Good amenities such as a pool are present, though some items like microwaves are missing.
Staff is friendly and accommodating based on multiple comments.
Positive experiences overall with a few minor drawbacks.
Rooms are spacious and comfortable but some rooms lack certain amenities like a fridge.
Perceived as a good deal for the quality and location, especially with excellent service.
“More like a hotel than a Hostal very very good”
First stay at a Hostal and very impressed! This hostal is right on the beach , the staff were friendly and welcoming. Very accomodating, they arranged our taxi transfer back to the airport. Our room in the new villa block by the pool was spacious and extremely clean ! The pool is sparkling plenty big enough for the guests staying in September.
“Family in Alicante”
Wonderful family vacation (9 nights). 2 Superior Rooms with air conditioning. Very comfortable bed, extra-large shower, daily cleaning. Property with a pool located on the seafront. Just steps from the tram stop to the city center. Excellent (!) restaurant on the property where you can have lunch and dinner (special mention for the very friendly staff throughout the property, especially in the restaurant, with special praise to Lena for her kindness, friendliness, and great professionalism). A few small negatives: the breakfast is standard continental, not very varied. The property has stairs everywhere. In my opinion, it should not be recommended for people with mobility difficulties
“Very Nice Hotel”
We recently stayed at Hostal San Juan, this Hotel has a amazing location, It is just few metres from the beach, there is free parking around the hotel and there is a tram service right beside which has a very good connection with other important locations like Benidorm or Alicante. The hotel is well maintained and very clean in general except the swimming pool tiles where there are tiny stones that can be uncomfortable when bare foot, the swimming pool has a good size, the water doesn't irritate your eyes and it kind of blends with the sea as in the picture which is lovely. There is a terrace with chairs on the first floor with a priceless seaview . The rooms are nice and the bathroom was renovated. The half pension exceed our expectations, breakfast had a decent selection and the lunch's starter and main course was changed everyday which had decent portions, nice presentation and the food was lovely, my congratulations to the chef. Unfortunately the service at the restaurant was a hit and miss before and after lunch time, in three opportunities I had to go myself to the bar to order drinks/coffee due to staff not acknowledging our presence for over 8 minutes or so at the outdoor sitting area while serving other people. The receptionist were very friendly and great providing information and advice. Housekeeping was the cherry on the cake, she did an excellent job in our room, big, big thank you to whoever was looking after the third floor. Final veredict: I highly recommend this two stars Hostal with a four stars soul :) .
“Great, little hostel!”
Myself and my friend were having a night out in San Juan so just wanted somewhere cheap to stay over. We were pleasantly surprised by Hostel San Juan. The staff were very friendly, they actually gave us a family room with a large bathroom and three beds so we could spread out, which were very comfortable. The rooms were clean and although the furniture was a little dated, it didn't matter. Especially for the price we paid. It's right in the beach front and the tram stop and small bar is nearby. We didn't eat there, but there is a bar and pool area. San Juan itself us actually great for a night out, with cocktail bars, restaurants and live music and the beaches are amazing! We went two tram stops from the hostel and the taxi back was just over €6. We live 30 minutes up the coast, so would definitely book again next time any good bands are playing.... 🤗
“Simple hotel with were nice service and perfect location”
Very nice hotel with for a good price in high season. Perfect location on the beach and easy connection to the city center. There are 2 weaknesses: no air-condition in the building and no wifi in the room. The second one become an advantage from the weakness, supported to relax :) Highly recommend
“Opposite the beach”
This is a lovely hotel in which to stay. The staff are lovely, the room I had (separate building by the pool) was fabulous, breakfast is good and there's a nice pool if the sea is not your thing. The only downside for me was not having wifi in the room but it wouldn't be a deal breaker; I would stay here again - and probably will.
