“A filthy place.”

I didn't like anything.

To be improved

It's a filthy grotty and neglected place. I can't understand why Booking still does business with a place like that, it doesn't match the minimum standards. And neither can I understand why the Catalan local authority has not shut down that place, it's a disgrace for the Catalan tourist industry. Do they carry out any inspections at all?

“I dislike the property because, I couldn't sleep the first night because there was a lot of noise and the pillows was stinky and more over i found a dangerous insert on the bed, infact I couldn't enjoyed the property all .my advice is that they should get the property renovated.”

We travelled by car to the Hostel and I was advised by the hostel receptionist to park the car in a local secure car park, which I did in the evening. The following morning we went to retrieve the car to leave and was charged a stagering Euros 40 exchanged to £33.34p. Don't need to tell you the lesson to learn here!

“Avoid! Hostel threatened me!!!”
The best

My room was comfortable and right across the hallway to the shared bathroom. Staff was friendly while I was at the hotel.

To be improved

I contacted staff by email after my hotel stay to get a receipt in the format that Booking.com requests in order to get a refund from Booking (Booking.com screwed up my previous booking that day and offered me a full refund on my new booking to compensate). The next day I received an email response from Hostel Penedes with nothing more than the text "¡No hay problema!" (i.e. "no problem"). Since they didn't follow up, I emailed them 2 days later, then 5 and 8 days later, at which point they sent me another response with nothing but the text "¡No hay problema!" I sent them an email informing them that if they didn't provide me with the requested receipt, I would leave them a poor review pointing out their horrible customer service. They responded the next day, in French, threatening me that if I leave them a poor review, they will take action to get me banned from Booking.com. What?! A business that treats its customers like this, with horrible customer service and threats should not be allowed to operate on Booking.com! I have never been treated more poorly by a hotel than Hostel Penedes. Avoid at all cost!

“Disappointing experience”
To be improved

We had absolutely terrible experience. When we got there, they let us into another room and not into the one we booked. Everything was dirty, room was really small and the important part - the bed mattress was wood hard. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
