Hotel Abades Loja

Bed very uncomfortable. Very dated, badly needs upgrading. Very limited selection of food on offer in the evening at 8pm even though they serve until 11pm.

although check in was at 14:00 we couldn‘t check in until 17:40, because „the room was not ready“. AC wasn’t working at all, rooms are in an old, very outdated condition.

Address said km192 on the A92. The location is actually a service station area at km 189. If I had followed their instructions I would have missed the hotel. Having stayed at El Mirador, Loja, part of the same hotel group, for only €5 more, the week before I expected a moderate hotel. I can only describe it as adequate. Aircon not working. Restaurant indicated on the website was not open - dinner was in the service station café! Beds creaky. Walls thin - could hear next door's TV till 12.30 am when they turned it down (not off). No TV remote in room had to collect from Reception. No wifi info on the check in card or in the room, so another call to reception. Small balcony covered in bird droppings from the 3 swallow nests in the corner. Balcony in any case only had room for one chair !!
