“Truckers/tourist hotel”
The hotel terrace looks onto the N630 so it’s a handy stop for truckers and tourists alike. If the maintenance was up to speed I’d have given a better rating but it’s not. The bedroom and bathroom are a decent size and there’s room for luggage. There were plenty of plug sockets too and several chairs. The bed was a shock as it only had a sheet and a bedcover, no duvet or blanket so not nice. The shower head had holes made by missing parts in the pipe which was unhygienic as well. The dinning room was only used at lunch and had a small set menu which was average. Supper is in the noisy bar which is ok but noisy. There’s a very small swimming pool which is too warm and changing rooms are a reminder of old school locker rooms, with little privacy. There is also a reasonably well equipped gym. I was on a walking holiday so this was convenient for one night. I enjoyed Almendrolejo town, which is a 20 minute walk from the hotel and a nice place to visit.
“Disappointed”
We stayed here for one night and I honestly say I'm glad it was just for one night, the room was basic no tea or coffee etc, when I booked it was for 2 people and 2 dogs when we checked in we where told there was a cost of 8 euros for each dog I think this should have been made clear at time of booking the staff we feel must be very unhappy at their work as they are rude and arrogant in all areas of this hotel the reception desk was the worst I have encountered with the staff in the cafe/restaurant where dreadful I would not stay here ever very unpleasant experience.
“Well run, pleasant stay”
Very nice rooms, good public areas, superd large swimming pool & poolside area + adjacent bar / restaurant. Great location, although out of town there is covered parking & very near access to the Autovia. Almenralejo is not such an interesting town, but the surrounding countryside is very attractive since the soil is so fertile. All kinds of farming. A lot of vinyards. But this hotel is excellently and centrally placed if you want to visit Merida, Badajoz, Cacares & Trujillo. Elvas in Portugal is not far. Staff were very kind & pleasant, restuarant/bar is fine. This hotel is excellent value for the price !
“Mr Abbou”
Fantastic and fabulous hotel Very clean friendly staff Brilliant reasonable family rate Top location for a break after a long Drive it's my favourite location off the motorway Definitely recommend by me.
“Just right.”
Stayed here recently with our dog. Good experience. Easy to find, plenty of parking, warm reception, large room, splendid bathroom, very clean. Ate in the bar; good range of hot and cold food. Biggest Spanish gin and tonics! It's not five star, but it is inexpensive, excellent value for money and the staff obviously work hard for the guests. We liked the hotel.
“Easy parking, good rates, and not uncomfortable”
Despite the bad reviews of this hotel we had nothing serious to complain about. We were just stopping for the night, although we did drive into Almendralejo to walk around a bit. The room was spacious althought it does need a makeover. Outside, unfortunately, but not the hotel's fault, was a major pig farm, and the smell, depending on the direction of the wind, could be pretty horrific. We had to keep the windows closed but it was winter so no problem. Downstairs was a small gym, which is used by the locals. We used it too. There was a smal indoor pool but we did not venture to try our swimming skills. Breakfast was simple but we were not in the mood for big buffets where you eat things you normally wouldn't eat at home anyway--sausages, bacon etc. All in all, this hotel is good value and I would recommend it.
