“Lovely stay would definitely return”
I had a lovely stay at the hotel. I travelled by myself and found the location, facilities and hotel perfect for my needs. The rooms were a good size and the beds comfortable. Most importantly, staff were friendly and helpful, especially on Reception. Thank you Jose for sorting out my problems with such kindness and humour.
“variable but honest review”
10/10 for location as only a few minutes walk downhill from all the shops and main area. Close to two launderettes, and less than 5 minutes from the main bus station. 7/10 for food- very good selection but some dishes were only just warm, vegetables were soft and the menu is a weekly cycle and as we were here for 4 weeks, it was a bit repetative. Generally though, you can always find something to eat on the menu. Big shout out to the ebullient funny helpful waiter Santiago. Also the young waiting staff worked extremely hard and deserve some praise. 3/10 for wifi- it is reasonably fast, but you have to log on sometimes multiple times in 24 hours and there is no consistent wifi. 7/10 for the room, as it is large and well equipped. It is also cleaned daily and well by the cleaning staff. However, we had a consistently bad smell in the bathroom which appeared without fail overnight and lasted until mid morning. Initially it smelt of radishes but became increasingly stronger smelling of ammonia. We told the receptionist (Jorge- the good guy) in our first week, and immediately the filter in the bathroom vent and the air conditioning vent in the room were both cleaned. This lasted about 12 hours and it was back again. We told another receptionist who said it was the smell of the sea- impossible as the bathroom has no window and we never smelt the sea. The smell was definitely a sewage type smell but nothing was done about it and we endured it for our entire 4 week stay. For this reason and the poor wifi, we would not return to this hotel. 3/10 for atmosphere especially the so called entertainment in the lobby bar, and in fact the whole lobby area is very bright and there is absolutely no atmosphere with not very comfy seats. 2/10 for value as we have booked another hotel with better reviews and as we visited it during our stay, we know it has much better ambience yet is costing us over £800 less for the same 4 weeks in 2027 9/10 for noise level- this was no issuea t all as we had a room facing the back with occasional street noise or music.
“Perfect Hotel”
Superb hotel. Spottlesley clean. Rooms large, fresh and well serviced. Five minutes walk from the bus station, to access buses to anywhere in the island. Very helpful and polite staff, especially Santiago, the perfect waiter. Great selection of food, we stayed half board. Wine served at dinner, tasty and good value. Mainly German guests, sadly few English speaking. I would be happy to return to this great hotel.
“Clean and centrally located hotel”
Hotel Valle Orotava is a clean and centrally located hotel, rated as four stars, although that rating feels slightly generous overall. The rooms were comfortable and well maintained, and housekeeping did a good job. However, the toilet in my room kept running constantly, and despite reporting it two or three times, the issue was never fixed during my entire stay. This was disappointing, especially on a dry island where water conservation should be taken seriously. The restaurant was the weakest part of the hotel. While the staff were friendly and efficient, the food quality and selection were mediocre. Even a simple dish like lasagna was watery and honestly a disaster, and the meat used in other dishes was clearly not of good quality. It was also surprising that even water was not included and had to be paid for separately. For this reason, I would not recommend booking lunch or dinner at the hotel. Breakfast, however, was standard and acceptable. The reception staff were helpful and service-minded, which made a good first impression. The hotel is fairly quiet despite its central location, although there was occasional noise from motorcycles on the road below. The location is a big plus: the town itself is fantastic and a great choice when visiting Tenerife, as long as you are not mobility-impaired. Directly across the street is said to be a very good café, and there are many restaurants nearby as well as a very large supermarket within easy walking distance. My room did not have a proper refrigerator, only a small minibar. The safety deposit box worked well and is definitely recommended to use. Overall, I can recommend Hotel Valle Orotava for its location, cleanliness, and friendly service — just avoid booking meals other than breakfast.
“Perfect hotel in every way”
Just returned from 8 nights at this hotel. What can I say it is perfect in every way. We stayed in room 515 which was spacious with a very large balcony which had 2 Sun loungers plus a table and chairs. The room itself had a very comfy bed, good size TV, free safe, Fridge and plenty of storage. We stayed B&B and the breakfast was everything you needed. The area around the hotel was very clean and bars and restaurants with in a few minutes walk. All the staff at this hotel were professional and friendly. We will be returning without a doubt (want the same room though Jose lol).
“Ideal Central Hotel”
The hotel VF Valle Orotava is very well situated, close to the bus station, the beaches and all the varied restaurants in the pretty old town. It is a bright modern town centre hotel with an excellent rooftop area with two swimming pools, sun loungers and bar. The staff are friendly and welcoming and Jose on reception is very knowledgeable and informative about the area. It is an ideal place to come to relax whilst being close to all amenities. We have stayed here many times and have had great holidays.
