My partner and I were excited about our stay – it was meant to be a surprise, but unfortunately turned into a nightmare. We both woke up with dozens of bites – classic bed bug patterns. We contacted the hotel immediately, sent photos and requested a report. But what followed was complete silence. Some messages were ignored, others delayed. No apology. No follow-up. No inspection report. Just a cold, generic response. For a four-star hotel in this price range, that’s completely unacceptable. What happened was bad – but how we were treated afterwards was even worse.

“Our stay at the Alahuar Hotel was wonderful. The location is fantastic, the bungalow was beautiful, tidy, with a balcony and a view of the mountains. There was a pool with sun loungers. The breakfast was generous and delicious. The restaurant dishes were excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly. Highly recommended!”

Our stay at the Alahuar Hotel was wonderful. The location is fantastic, the bungalow was beautiful, tidy, with a balcony and a view of the mountains. There was a pool with sun loungers. Dinner quality inconsistent ie ribs one night great 2 nights later not very good. Iberian pork first night dry 2 nights later lots of sauce and different/more vegetables”

Lovely staff, clean room and nice view from the balcony. The restaurant is absolutely excellent!! We dined there three times on our trip and every meal was delicious, locally sourced and fresh.

To be improved

Not sure how effective the air conditioning in our room was but it was ok. Also be prepared for a hike up to the hotel if you're not driving, but I think most people had cars.

“Great Rural Hotel 🙂”
The best

Fantastic rural ‘getaway from it all’ hotel. Rooms were great suggest an upgrade to the bungalow rooms as the views are amazing and they are spacious. The pool is great and the food fantastic the restaurant terrace is a great place for dinner and the food is superb.
