“Very Disappointing Stay – Not What You Expect from a Hotel”

The staff were fairly friendly and okay – that was one of the few positives.

To be improved

Unfortunately, the rest of the stay was quite negative. Upon check-in, we were handed a TV remote with a strong warning that we must return it at checkout. We didn’t quite understand this kind of service, but we accepted it. However, the remote didn’t even work – the batteries were old and oxidized. We had to go back down and ask for help again, which thankfully we received. The bathroom had a major issue: the socket for charging an electric toothbrush only worked when the light was on – and that was connected to an extremely loud ventilation system, causing headaches from the constant noise. Worse, when we left the room with the light on to charge the toothbrush, the staff turned it off while we were away. The air conditioning was outdated and only blew warm air. The facility overall is very old. The floor in the room was broken – tiles were loose and moved, which made it risky to walk around. A plastic carpet was laid down, seemingly to cover the damage, and was held in place only by the weight of the bed. It was so slippery that we almost fell several times. The room was too hot without working air conditioning. The pillow situation was also strange – there was only one long, flat pillow for a double bed, which didn’t make sense for two people. Overall, the nights were horrible and mostly sleepless. We had specifically chosen the hotel for rest and recovery because we were traveling for sports competitions – instead, it became an added source of stress. It was truly disappointing, especially since you expect a hotel to offer a better experience than your own home.
