“Great beachside location in an historic town and where the visitors are mostly Spanish”
Great location right on Gijon's terrific long beach and adjascent to the Capavilla headland which has many of the historical sights and restaurants that make this an interesting urban/seaside destination. Gijon's is not a resort but a place to enjoy in the company of mostly Spanish visitors wanting to explore the food and culture of the rugged northern province of Asturias. The town has lots of interesting late nineteenth century/early twentieth century architecture and enjoyable squares and cafes. Expect a grand, comfortable hotel existing in a kind of time warp. Staff at the front desk are super helpful, the way hotels ought to be, and the breakfast room/cafeteria is full of locals coming in for their fresh orange juice, coffee and newspapers. We were happy there.
If you're walking from the bus station, ask for directions in advance! It's not far but a bit tricky first time.
“Seaside good location, spacious rooms but rude staff”
A well known place for locals, it’s not distinguished for their “greeting” staff. As if they were making a favor, they are rude and unwilling to give any info but your room number and the cafeteria schedule. They have this sign hanging on every wall asking to keep it silent for other guests rest accordingly but they are the first, at barely 8:00 to start opening/closing doors, vacuuming and so forth.
“great hotel in a good location near the sea front”
nice large room comfy bed and great bathroom breakfast was good plenty of veriety
no parking near by
“We will do it again!”
Location is perfect
Everything was good
“Fair but well located”
The location is superb!
The rooms are not sound proof, hence you can hear anyone passing by or even coming out from the lift. And it’s not a joke at 3 am. No smart TV available, no apps.
