Hotel Almirante

We chose this hotel due to the good Trip Advisor reviews and that the room rate was competitive also. We were very lucky also with the weather in our short break in that temperatures in February were up to 24 degrees for a few days. On arrival at Alicante airport, we took a taxi directly to the hotel as it was late. Around 30-40 minute transfer time and expect to pay a taxi rate of around €50-€60. However a far cheaper option is the C6 bus from the airport into Alicante city then the tram towards El Campello or Benidorn, getting off at Costablanca stop. It's a 10 minute walk to the hotel but expect the transfer time to be around an hour or so this way but alot cheaper. The trams can also take you to Benidorm which is around an hour from the hotel. Check in The hotel is around a 3 min walk from San Juan beach which is lovely. Check in was rather slow as I needed to verify my credit card and the wi fi signal was not good. Eventually we got our room access cards. We had a bed and breakfast rate. More about the breakfast later. Room We were on the 4th out of 5 floors. The room is lovely. Clean, modern, albeit somewhat compact. The bed was comfy although a little short. There is air conditioning which works when the balcony doors are locked. There is building work going on at the moment with some drilling but it did not spoil our break. The main room has tea/coffee making facilities, a safe and a tv. However we could not find a single English language tv channel? Only some streaming services such as Amazon prime had English programmes of which some cost extra to view. The bathroom was lovely with a sliding door, walk in shower with good water pressure. Ample shower gels, conditioner and shampoo. Towels are nice with a large sink also. There needed to be some more shelving however for other toiletries to go on. There is an outdoor pool also. It is simple with enough seating and good enough size for a decent swim. The hotel is genuinely quiet with a vibe mainly it seems for couples. I would not recommend families coming here as there is no entertainment nor is there anything really to do in the area. I was disappointed with the breakfast in that supplies were running out a good hour before the breakfast ended. The milk had run out and I asked twice for some milk to be re-supplied but took around 20 minutes. The sliced bread ran out, along with scrambled eggs. The cereal choice is limited and some fresh fruits ran out also. It wasn't busy either as I don't believe there were that many guests during our stay. One of the coffee machines broke and there was no cutlery on the breakfast tables either. It was a shambles to be honest. I would not recommend eating here as the hotel should be doing better than what we experienced. I saw meats were being taken off the self service tables a good half an hour before the breakfast time ended. If you head West along San Juan beach to the end then you will find enough restaurants and bars open, however not all of them are open yet due to the season. Overall we had a nice stay apart from the breakfast but in future will try and be more aware of what is in the area.

This is a really lovely hotel! It’s not quite on the beachfront, but very close. The hotel is a nice size - large enough to have a good range of facilities, but small enough to have charm and character. Very relaxed, quiet and tranquil. Lovely big bedroom, with large balcony looking towards the pool, and an excellent shower. Bedroom was nicely furnished, in a contemporary style, and the bed was large and comfortable. Really good breakfast buffet, with a wide choice including plenty of breads, pastries, fresh fruit and hot items. My only criticism is that the hot buffet items were really not very hot! Overall I’d say the hotel is a great choice for a relaxing stay outside the city, but still within easy reach (30 mins to the city centre by bus or tram).

hotel looks nice. the garden is maintained very well. the room was nice and the staff were fantastic. there were some construction work being done on the 2 floor, you almost did not notice it. the hotel is very quiet and calm

Our 3 nights stay was great. It looked like the hotel has recently been upgraded. The interior was beautiful designed with attention to detail. The pool area and gardens were well maintained. The staff were attentive. The late check out facilities were included with no additional charge.

Incredible hotel! I stayed there solo and the staff was incredible, the pool was fabulous and the proximity to the beach was perfect. The room was perfect with an ocean view. I can't say a single negative thing about this experience, and I thank the staff for their incredible service to this solo traveler.

Miguel is the best entertainer so much action always he's smiling and ready to Dance and so kind we had so much fun best action best hotel We loved it it's my 3rd time
