This was literally paradise. Would advise to rent a car to get there, but if not, the old town of Altea is about a 20 minute walk with lots of shops and restaurants

The best

Our room Las Palmeras was fairly basic/rustic but had a huge terrace overlooking the pool, the surrounding trees and with a view to the mountains behind Albir. The pool is lovely as are the many varied plants around it. Breakfast is excellent and the staff are charming and very helpful. We walked up to Albir every morning - a 10-15 minute walk uphill. A couple of times we walked down to the seafront followed by a much slower walk back up the hills & steps!

The caged parrots at the bottom of the garden.
