Hotel Amazonas

Very clean hotel, nice breakfast, helpful polite staff who work very hard. Great pool, opens at 10.30 till 6.30 no trouble getting sun loungers and only 5 mins to the beach. Near shops and eateries znd bars.

I really enjoyed the pool area even though some construction noise was present. I liked the fact of walking distance to beach, shops and transport links. My hotel room unfortunately was on the street near the 24/7 kebabs shops this made for a lot of noise and the smell of food got into my clothes. I think even if I’d got a different room the walls are thin so I don’t think it would have made too much of a difference. I found the staff to be helpful and polite. Would I stay here again? … no. If had soundproofing then yes I’d happily book another holiday at this hotel. :)

I travelled with my five year old for a week away during school holidays. We chose Amazonas as it was very reasonably priced and is located close to Palma, so we could enjoy a beach and city break. The check in was smooth and we was given a room on the fifth floor which had a side pool view. We did not experience any issues with noise as I’ve read in other reviews. But I did email the hotel before travelling, asking them to put us in one of the quieter rooms as there was just myself and my young son travelling. They accommodated my request and we had good sleep whilst staying at the hotel. The room was basic but very clean and similar to a travel lodge style in the U.K. the only downside of the room was there wasn’t a fridge to store drinks in and it was extremely warm, so drinks never stayed cold. There was a supermarket opposite so we could always get new drinks quite quickly. The hotel pool was well maintained and a nice place to relax around. There’s a kids pool too and a lifeguard there daily. There was never an issue getting sunbeds which was nice as we didn’t have to rush there every day. The pool opens at 10:30am and is locked up via a gate until then. There is a pool bar which sells food too. Francisco on the pool bar is very friendly and welcoming. He even gave my son a kilo to play with, which was a lovely touch. He would also encourage my son to communicate in Spanish as he heard us learning it together. The reception staff was also very friendly. My son would greet them in German as the ones we met was German. They too encouraged him speaking German which he found a lot of fun. The hotel guests whilst we was staying was a mix of English and German but couples and a few younger groups. They was all respectful around the pool. The hotel was well located at one end of El Arenal, around five minutes walk max to the beach. At the beach you can hire paddle boards for 10eur per day and also kayaks, peddle boats and water sports too. Lots of people swam at night as well as during the day which was nice. We also joined in the fun as the weather was so warm. There is a water park very close by but we didn’t go there. We did visit the aquarium which I highly recommend and we also rode the sightseeing train from El Arenal to Can Pastilla too. It was a nice little trip and not expensive. We used the bus to get into Palma which is 2eur each way per person. Children under five do not pay. It took around twenty minutes and stops next to the cathedral or plaza España, so was very easy. The bus stop is a ten minute walk from the hotel. And bus number 25. Overall I highly recommend Hotel Amazonas. We would definitely return. Great service, well located and very reasonably priced.

Clean rooms with air conditioning. Located just by a small harbour and the ocean. Some supermarkets just outside and 10 min walk from a bus station. Big lounge and nice pool area. Flexible staff that could arrange for a late check-in, possible to store your luggage. If all your looking for is a safe and clean place to sleep, this is more then enough!

Nice staff. Basic hotel. Booked a promo room and was given a room in close proximity to a 24 hour kebab shop (just over the road). Kebab shop workers and friends/patrons would treat the place like a night club and were outside shouting, clapping whopping and partying all night. I was woken at 4:30am on my first night and eventually went down to complain at 6am, asked to change rooms due to the noise. I had to come back later to see the manager who offered to change my room but I would need to pay to upgrade at 20 euros per night. There was no apology but an acknowledgement that thus is common as the manager told me they have called the police on the kebab shop on many occasions but it doesn't help. Spent the rest if my stay being woken in the early hours and so didn't have a relaxed holiday. I would choose another hotel next time.
