Hotel America

The entrance and eating area are nice but sadly that's where the niceties end, rooms smell of sewerage, seriously dirty and old fashioned air conditioning that's so loud you can't use it, had to ask for a fan as it was so hot, no kettle in room either,booked bed & breakfast but the selection is very poor, choice of ham or cheese sub type roll and 1 small croissant/chocolate pastry with a glass of orange juice, coffee, tea and water also available, very over priced with the choice and state of room no kettle etc in room, I would not choose to stay here again

Awful experience. When you go down for breakfast, you’ll find you can only choose one of the readymade sandwiches in the bar. If you ask them to make a different sandwich, they’ll refuse. They will give you a sandwich with rubbery bread and, if you ask them to please toast the bread because it's rubbery, they will also refuse. Having paid 100 € for a room without a fridge and with a faulty window, they will tell you that the prices are already very tight and that they can’t afford toasting the bread for you (!!!). Afterwards, you will write three emails asking for the manager's email in order to send a private complaint, and they won't even respond. Even paying 56 euros per night, I had never had such poor insulting service! We will never stay there again.

Todo es anticuado y descuidado. Lavabo funcional. Mini televisor. El desayuno tipo buffet ( de 7 euros) es de ...risa (a las fotos me remito...). El trato del personal es normal. Una muy mala eleccion si estas por la zona... lamentable.

La atención exelente, relacion precio calidad buena.

I arrived in the afternoon, having walked from Sant Pau, about 16km away, and managing to get lost on the way into the town. However, I was rescued by a student who drove me there. I had stayed there over 10 years ago, and the place had been much renovated. The old restaurant, reminiscent of the last days of the caudillo, had been replaced by a small but stylish addition to the café. The rooms had been renovated and, while small and not ornate, were very comfortable. Reception was professional and friendly, much as I have come to expect in Spain and Catalonia. The hotel is about 10-15 minutes on foot from the plaza.

Have stayed here three times now to fly our hot air balloon at the European Balloon Festival in July. Rooms are clean and s good size but very 79s in style! Nice pool, helpful staff, practical if not glamorous!
