“Tasteful interior design, room well equipped, friendly staff. · Cons: We recently spent two nights at the hotel, having booked a double room advertised as “overlooking an inner patio.” While the room itself was comfortable and the service and reception were generally very good, the so-called “inner patio view” was highly misleading and deeply disappointing. In reality, the view consisted of a narrow, enclosed light well that offered no natural light, no view of the sky, and no sense of the time of day. It felt claustrophobic—more akin to being in a prison cell than in a room at a premium hotel. This is not what one would reasonably expect from the description provided, especially at a rate exceeding EUR 470.00 per night. After expressing our concerns, we were offered a different room on the first floor, but it directly faced a major construction site and was not a viable alternative. We would have expected at the very least a gesture of goodwill—whether a rate adjustment, room upgrade, or other form of compensation. Unfortunately, no such effort was made. This lack of responsiveness was surprising and disappointing, particularly given the hotel’s otherwise high standards and the already very high price of the room. Based on this experience, we will not be returning to Hotel Arbaso and would not recommend to anyone to book there.”

“Lovely modern hotel in the heart of San Sebastian”

The best

Splendid location close to the cathedral. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Valet parking services was excellent. Our 5th floor room had skylights and was bright and airy. Comfortable bed and good bathroom. Breakfast was a la carte so only ordered what you want.

To be improved

The hotel is in a low emission zone so you need to have registered your vehicle with the local council. We did not know this but the hotel organised it all for us when we arrived. Otherwise perfect.

“A stay of two halves. A bit disappointing”

Well situated with comfortable well appointed rooms. Front desk and concierge staff excellent.

To be improved

Our experience in the Narru Restaurant and bar was disappointing. The food was excellent, but served too quickly and in a frantic manner. Staff didn’t stand still long enough to get their attention and we were pretty much ignored when we decided to have a nightcap in the bar.
