“Decent low budget option, on the outskirts of Bilbao but with good transport links”

This hotel was excellent value for money, given especially that I stayed in Europa League Final week. Although quite far from the city centre, it's literally a few minutes walk from Zamudio station on Euskotren Trena line E3, and then only 20 mins into the city. There's also a bus stop nearby into the city (and to the airport first which is very near the hotel). The staff were nice and friendly, and everything was immaculately clean.

To be improved

The 'breakfast' was disappointing - a celophane wrapped pain o chocolat, a tiny cupcake, and a few dry biscuits left in the room. I'm not sure this even meets a reasonable definition of breakfast. And a tiny niggle - I booked Tues & Weds nights initially, then later booked the Monday, but they were unable to join the dots and I had to check out Tues morning, leave my bag at reception all day and check into a different room Tues evening (!).

It was a little rundown. There was nobody to be greeted by. Several other patrons did not know how to open the door to get in. It’s very confusing if you’re from a foreign country. I helped about three people get in with wassap.
