“Excellent central hotel”

The best

Excellent hotel in the centre of Barcelona. Close to all the sights and sounds of the city, but a peaceful and relaxing oasis when you want to shut out the world. We had a Deluxe double room at the rear of the hotel (no view but no noise either) which was spacious and well equipped with a great walk in shower in the large and well presented bathroom. The bed was comfy and the air conditioning effective (if a little bit noisy). The TV had Netflix and YouTube so you could fill a few minutes with something less depressing than CNN or BBC world (in March 2026!) during any downtime. Everything in the room and hotel worked great and was well maintained with the exception of the timber decking around the pool which needs refinishing. All the staff were fantastic, as was the free city walking tour (we did Sunday which was about the history of Barcelona). The cheese and wine at 5pm was always welcome and helped us push dinner back an hour or so. The only negative issue for us was the breakfast which we found plentiful with good quality pastries and cereals but a bit expensive and somewhat limited and repetitive after 5 nights. The cooked items were often cold and/or overcooked for our tastes (cold beans and scrambled eggs and very crispy bacon and burnt sausages). It's handy to eat in the hotel but given the central location there are plenty of local options. Overall we liked the Hotel Barcelona Cathedral and would definitely stay there again, but might opt for a superior outward facing room (no availability during our stay) but not take breakfast.

“Central Quiet Hotel”

The hotel is in a great location just a few steps away from the Cathedral in the gothic area, near to the Ramblas and metro stations. Although it was in a central location it was quiet. The hotel was very clean, we had breakfast included which was very good. The reception staff were friendly and informative helping us with our many questions. We did not use the pool area. Our only negative comment would be that when we asked about local non chain or tourist type restaurants in very close proximity to the hotel we were told there wasn't anything in fact there were a lot that we found down little streets, just what we were looking for.

“The perfect hotel for a stay in Barcelona !”

The best

Stayed there for 5 days for a study trip and it was fantastic ! First, the location of the hotel is incredible. You've got the Cathedral right next to it, and lots of pretty narrow streets where you can drink a coffee. Plaça de Catalunya is just minutes away. The hotel itself is clean, classy. Staff is very helpful and pleasant, always smiling and able to speak in various languages with no problem. Food was nice, especially their apple pies for breakfast. Rooms are very comfortable and there's a lot of storage space. Reception is reactive. I had a great time at the bar too. Overall, my stay here went perfectly and I can't recommend this hotel enough ! It made visiting Barcelona even more enjoyable. P.S. I forgot to add that there are wine tastings organized by the hotel, don't forget to go to one at least !
