“Great Stay, Shame About the Food”
Overall, we had a nice stay at the Best Cambrils hotel. It’s a lovely, well-maintained hotel that is perfectly situated for exploring salou and Cambrills. The Best Bits: The accommodation was excellent. The rooms were comfy, spacious, and everything felt clean and relaxing. The swimming pool area is also a major highlight—it’s very well-kept, and we were so pleased that there were plenty of sunbeds to go around every day. We experienced absolutely no sun bed wars, which makes for a much more relaxing holiday experience! The hotel is also perfectly located, with easy access to public transport right outside. Getting to Salou or into the center of Cambrils was quick and straightforward, allowing us to explore the area effortlessly. The Only Downside: Unfortunately, the food was the single thing that let the whole place down. We were consistently disappointed by the quality. It was often cold and the variety was very poor, as the same dishes seemed to be repeated daily. If you plan to book here, I would highly recommend going self-catered or half-board, and eating out as much as possible, as the dining experience really doesn't match the quality of the rest of the hotel. Summary: This is a four-star review because the comfortable rooms, great pool area, and excellent location deserve it. However, the poor buffet dragged the overall experience down. If they improved the catering, it would easily be a five-star property
“Not a 4* Hotel in my opinion.”
Stayed here for 7 nights at the beginning of October 2025, defo not in my opinion a 4* hotel. Feel like there is penny pinching in alot of areas. Cheap toilet roll, no toiletries in the bathroom, no kettle in the room. Small basic room with a tiny bathroom, shower over a narrow bath that spilt water onto the floor while showering, did have a screen but easily knocked open with your elbows and no I am not a large person! Wardrobe with hanging space and a shelf, no drawer storage and certainly wouldnt be enough for 2 people stopping 2 weeks. - my husband left his clothes in his case! A plus for the room was the free safe and a small fridge. Maids did come round each day and did a brief clean but the beds were not made or sheets changed all week. Food, not a huge choice but what was there was good. Like others have said it was never hot, warm but eatable. Seafood and fish was served every day and if thats your favourite you would have loved it. The dining room was often busy and very noisy especially at evening meal times. Outside the pool areas have plenty of sunbeds, pushed very close together but there was always some available, umbrellas too. The pool is clean but also very cold. Smoking is allowed anywhere in the pool areas and all the tabled seating areas had ash trays, great for the smokers but not nice if you are not. Would have been better to have separate areas. Pool towels are available for a €10 deposit however to change them it was a charge €2 each time?? Self serve pumps for soft drinks, sangria and beer at the pool bar was a plus however the beer was very frothy most of the time and you had to wait for it to settle before trying to pour anymore in the glass. Reception only had one person at the desk and often queues formed because of this. Spanish people took preference and you could find yourself stood waiting while a conversation took place.I stood in a queue of 14 people one afternoon. English speaking was very poor with all staff. Very little entertainment - a Spanish singer on 2 nights and no daytime activities at all. There is no facility for people leaving for an early flight before breakfast time - no drinks or food even though it was on our all inclusive booking. Hotel in a good location across the road from a lovely beach. Around a 40 min walk either to Salou or Cambrils, but it is a nice flat walk along the paved sea/beach front. In my opinion there is alot of improvement to be made for this hotel to be my kind of 4*. It is certainly not an English friendly hotel but rather for the holidaying Spanish. I would not recommend or return.
“Great relaxing holiday”
Perfect location for the beach (literally mins away) Room was good with central position and sea view Food and drink were satisfactory and plentiful Local transport was good with a bus stop and service shop across the road Bought a €10 travel card that covered a couple all day long on numerous busses 2 beautiful towns either side of the hotel giving us great walks to both where a nice cold beer and snak was easy to come by All the locals we met were so friendly and helpful with directions Hotel itself was spotless and most staff cheerful and friendly Criticism was a frothy beer pump for self serving that was impossible to get a good drink from Some bar staff trying it on to charge for snaks And being told it’s €25 euros plus a deposit for a kettle and coffee ☕️ in the room Seriously that’s bad Never not had a kettle for a morning coffee in any hotel I’ve stayed in Would I go again - yes defo
“A convenient hotel in a lovely region.”
My wife and I spent 12 nights in Best Cambrils and really quite enjoyed our time there. Our check in experience and room allocation was very friendly and speedy - especially as we arrived mid morning. When we entered our room (211) we were quite disappointed initially as it was small with a view of the car park. The bathroom was small too. However we decided not to make a fuss and to make the best of it. As it turned out the room was very quiet and suited us quite well. The balcony was small too and with smokers next door we didn’t use it much to sit outside. A VERY strong recommendation for this hotel was the superb food. Both breakfast and dinner ( we were half board) were excellent and we really loved the range of food available. We travel across the globe regularly (visiting family) and we have seldom experienced better food. The fruit available was exceptionally good as was all the food - it really suited our tastes anyway. Dinner not starting until 7.30 pm was a little late for us but worth the wait! The dining room staff were very friendly and attentive. The dining room was very busy, crowded and quite noisy but as we were almost first in we missed the really busy period. Another bonus was the close proximity to the lovely beach just across the road and also to the local bus pick up stops. Buying the travel pass made bus travel to Cambrils, Salou and Tarragona very cheap and convenient. Loved this! We never used the pool area as it was too busy for our tastes and the loungers very tightly packed. We are beach users for sea swimming rather than the pool Another bonus was having the main UK television channels and generally good WiFi to keep in touch with news and sport. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and would return. As we had a late afternoon departure we would have liked a shower and room to change but this was not available and that was a negative for us! In spite of the minor irritations we had a nice time and loved the general area.
