Hotel Best Siroco

1st time writing a review, family if 4 who go on 2-3 holidays a year we had to write a review. From we first arrived at reception we felt staff attitude given a small bit of paper and had to ask room number and find lifts. The smallest room we have ever stayed in for a family of 4 and we paid to upgrade for side sea view. No room for luggage, single file to walk past bed. Small balcony with 2 chairs. The man ticking the yellow ticket at breakfast and dinner did not even look at you to greet you, continued talking to his co-worker in spanish. Food was just okay warm and my girls only ate muffins. Dinner is not catered for kids it was awful. The only good thing about dinner was the stir fry station. Hubby and I woke up to bites in room most mornings, mosquitoes in bathroom. We tried to get rid off but always found another one. We have never had this before, stayed in different hotel last year and not one bite. Pool area was dirty we were able to use bali beds as work going on and most of them were dirty. We found staff had such attitude like we were putting them out. Across the whole hotel staff had attitude, obviously coming from the top. A well run hotel would have better customer service. We are honest working family and would totally not recommend this hotel to anyone. Even on flight home lady beside me stayed last year and would not be back.

Hotel isn't in a bad location, although would benefit from accessing from the road rather than walking up the street to the car park. Lobby is nice enough but hotel lacks atmosphere. Bedrooms are small, we had to take it in turns to walk from one side to the other and very dated but are clean (apart from a stained net curtai). The shower didn't drain well and leaked out onto the bathroom floor. Only did b&b and we were very glad. Choice and quality of breakfast wasn't great and food didn't get replenished once finished, I understand this if you go down not long before closing but when it's an hour before it wasn't great. Pool area is being renovated, whilst this doesn't ruin access to the current pool the noise and work does spoil the atmosphere, luckily we were just using the hotel as a base to explore. The gardens by the pool were nice and added to the outdoor area. We don't generally use hotel entertainment, although I have seen some good examples, the evening entertainment at the Siroco was poor and the area for this was cramped and uncomfortable - if this is something you look for in a hotel then I'd advise looking elsewhere. Overall not too bad for the price we paid as we just booked a fairly low amount for 5 days over Easter, although I wouldn't choose to stay in this hotel again.

On arrival at 2am, we were given a room with one of the most unholy smells we have ever smelt in our life, a bin not emptied and someone’s sunglasses left behind. Somehow we lasted the night with exhaustion and asked for a room change the following morning to which we were met with no issues. Our second room was much better and no smell, however we did encounter a cockroach on the final day in the bathroom. The hotel was under construction which didn’t cause too much hassle but there was no gym amenities and toilets by the pool which would have been nice to know before travelling. The breakfast was good enough with lots of options and even free prosecco which was a nice touch. The pool was freezing, like doing an ice bucket challenge to be honest, the pool equipment was a little old with some of the cabanas being ripped and some full of bird poo. The beds were comfy, showers good and staff were helpful. We had a late flight on our last day and the hotel allowed us to shower in a room free of charge which was really nice, you won’t be that in many hotels. I think it will be a better hotel in the summer months when construction is completed. Overall, not too bad.

Been several times twice yearly in the past but on our last visit found it had gone downhill, the food was pure and the standard of cleaning in our superior room was bad ,we now stay at the san fermin a quiet hotel and spotlessly clean

Stayed for a week early March. On 1st day of holiday, the sliding wardrobe door fell off injuring my foot, requiring hospital treatment. Have emailed as instructed by receptionist on return from holiday, to follow up compensation claim made at time and to date haven’t received any reply from numerous emails or Facebook messenger. Having looked at previous reviews, the wardrobe doors have clearly been an issue in the past. Very unprofessional and rude not to receive any reply to my emails. Would strongly recommend against staying in this hotel.

We weren’t told there was building work by easyJet until 3rd email, after we had paid! We were then told it was just one of the pools. This is a lie! There are extensive building works on the grounds as well, it is a real building site. Also told works would be from 10 till 6 Monday to Friday! Also a lie, work was going on all weekend! It was horrendous! The noise, drilling, hammering, reversing beepers going off all the time, no way could you relax. One pool was open, but who wants to swim in the middle of a building g site! Not me. I know this is not the hotels fault and to be honest the hotel was very nice. Food was good, too. Although we had one of the smallest rooms, it was fine, the shower was very good. The beach and shops etc are fairly near BUT, all down hill and loads and loads of steps! Which means walking all uphill on steps etc on way back to hotel. Not good if you have walking problems, even slight ones! So glad we only stayed 4 days. I couldn’t wait to get home for some peace! Would we stay at this hotel again? Even when renovations have been done? Absolutely not!!
