Beautiful hotel with a great location. Breakfast was lovely - just right.

To be improved

It was a very expensive hotel and, as such, we felt that welcoming guests from outside the hotel for drinks (in particular Happy Hour) and breakfast was detrimental to the enjoyment of the hotel guests as they were unable to have priority over the tables on the terrace.

“Tour of France and Spain”

Hotel is in a great location We had a beautiful sea view terrace room for two nights then had to move to a panoramic room that was a very nice room as well both had fantastic views across the bay. The reception staff and managers were exceptionally friendly and helpful ,The bar staff apart from one young lady were not First night we ordered dinner from bar restaurant my main dish arrived first followed five minutes later with my wife’s dinner and both staters all together as we finished our side salad arrived, I asked for a desert he told me the kitchen was now closed? Considering the hotel boasts a Michelin star restaurant I was shocked it was only 9pm The cocktail bar was a jokeI asked for 2 x Hendricks and Tonic it turned up with a slice of dried orange in it? This is my every day drink always with a slice or more of cucumber I tried to explain this to be told it is the way they have to do it besides they did not have any cucumber Following evening we decided to have a nightcap I ordered a Calypso coffee and an Irish coffee She asked what a Calypso was e told her it was made with Tia Maria she then returned and said they had no Tia Maria we settled with Cointreau she asked what was Irish Coffee I told her made with Jameson whiskey they both turned up in a breakfast coffee mug with no cream but astonishing he used a Kentucky Bourbon it was a disgusting oak barrel taste I was told “They had no Irish whisky” Morning breakfast was also a joke he was more interested in his mobile phone than serving when he see we was seated he shouted from behind the bar if we wanted a coffee the buffet was very basic. To cap my stay our car was parked by the staff in the hotel secured parking when we was ready to leave we was informed a window had been smashed by thief’s with several other motors on that level of the public car park this delayed our leaving by five hours do to temporary repairs with board and tape and repotting to local police
