“You get what you pay for!”
Fantastic experience from arrival to departure. All the team worked so hard to ensure I got the promised five star service. Excellent location in the heart of the old town but quiet enough to enjoy a peaceful nights sleep. I can recommend their restaurant as I dined there six times during my 10 night stay. This is not your usual Benidorm hotel but I don’t like usual!
“Run down, shabby, needs significant investment”
This was our second stay at the Venecia and it’s not been a good one. Everyday we’ve had to complain - the temperature control in the room is managed centrally so it’s either freezing cold or suffocatingly hot. The Wi-Fi is patchy and I could never get an internet connection on my phone which meant having to use nearby bars and restaurants to catch up with emails. The spa and chill out area are an utter disgrace - dirty, rotting wood, cold plunge pool - a world away from the luxury portrayed in the photographs and videos. The breakfast was good if you like cold food - the dishes made to order were served luke warm. There were crumbs on the floor that hadn’t been cleaned and lipstick marks on one of the glasses. The fridge in the room didn’t work very well and drinks were not kept properly chilled. The hotel is trading on past glories and needs significant investment to bring it up to a 5 star establishment. The only saving grace has been that the staff are kind and attentive. We will never choose this hotel again and would not recommend it.
“New year”
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An absolutely exceptional stay from start to finish. The hotel exudes elegance and comfort, with beautifully designed rooms, immaculate cleanliness, and attention to every detail. The staff were genuinely warm, professional, and always eager to help, making us feel truly welcomed and cared for throughout our stay. The amenities were outstanding, from the luxurious spa to the excellent dining options offering delicious, high-quality cuisine. Every moment felt relaxing and indulgent, exactly what you would expect from a world-class five-star hotel. This was more than just a stay—it was an experience we will remember fondly. We can’t wait to return for new year 2026 and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, luxury, and exceptional service.
“Terrible experience”
Upon arrival nice glass of Prosecco for my partner and I had to wait ten minutes for my lager, reception had to chase the bar lady. Room was ok but small and the jacuzzi bath kept making noises all night even though we had not touched it. Breakfast this is where things get interesting. We asked for a table to be cleared and after waiting 15 minutes decided to remove the dirty plates from one to another. On seeing this the young waitress she ran over and put a fresh cover and cutlery down. The other lady who we asked first then started to give strange looks at us as maybe we should have waited another 15 minutes? The young waitress then brought us some juice and continental. We were sat there a total of 50 minutes and we asked 3 times if we could order breakfast which was a bit awkward. We advised reception they said they would sort it and yet nothing. The young waitress was great when we asked her we seen her go and advise the other one we wanted to order yet she shook her head. We left without breakfast advised management of our disappointment and they just told us to email our complaints. Could be a nice hotel if managed correctly but unfortunately this one is not
“A good hotel, but there were glitches.”
Firstly I should mention that the staff working in all areas of the hotel are exceptionally friendly and professional. From the welcome to the hotel to leaving the hotel. The room I occupied was quite, spacious, very clean and remarkably well maintained. This is where I need to mention a glitch; on the first night my shower screen failed and seriously flooded my room. Maintenance attempted a fix but the next morning I needed to use all towels to 'mop' the bathroom. The second glitch (for me) was the Gala Dinner. The food was remarkable, a great menu, served to perfection. BUT, I was not aware that the hotel split the Gala Dinner seating in two. It seemed Spanish guests were seated together (all dressed very glamorously !) and other (foreign) guests seated in a basement area. I can't sufficiently describe my disappointment. My companion and I had made a huge effort to dress appropriately (Black tie dinner suits) given it was to be a 'Gala' event. In the basement we looked and felt so out of place and uncomfortable as no one else had made an effort dress-wise (and I'm guessing this is why the hotel sits foreign guests away from local guests!). I did ask about any dress code a few weeks before arriving but didn't receive a response. The hotel will, no doubt, say they can't accommodate everyone in one room. If that's the case they must explain why they call it a 'Gala' event when that only refers to the selected few seated upstairs.
“Basic needs not met”
Room was very small limited storage, did not like the open shower space just a blind for privacy, was hoping to enjoy Xmas tv of an evening but no channels found , no wifi for tv they were using an unfamiliar system to us which did not work at all. Decided to cut short our stay not impressed, break fast hit and miss when ordered often forgetting coffe food always served cold , would not return
