“Lovely hotel”
Been to the hotel 5times in 2 years had no problems with the hotel at all the restaurant manager naima is so helpful as were the staff in the bar
“Great hotel on a budget, no big complaints at all”
This hotel was exactly what I was expecting for the price I paid, in fact my expectations were exceeded. The location is perfect for walking to Portaventura or the beach and main strip, we went early October so the hotel was not too busy and we never queued to get in for breakfast or dinner. Staff were nice overall and there was a cigarette smell in our room when we checked in and staff came up to sort it out straight away - I blame the people in before us and not the hotel! The room was great for us, two double beds together as a couple was a treat and the aircon was fab once we worked out it only comes on with the balcony door shut, which makes sense. Fair play to prior reviews, there was a level of noise on Saturday and Sunday night from the nightclub across the road but this gave us a nice atmosphere on the balcony and didn’t bother us. The pool is cold when you get in but it’s a hot country and it’s lovely once your shoulders are in, if you want a heated pool book a hotel with an indoor pool. The food was varied and again exactly what we expected for the price we paid. We did bring our own soft drink cans into dinner as no drinks are included with half board and we never went hungry and some nights the food was great, some nights classic 3-star hotel fare. I would say the negative reviewers clearly have champagne tastes on a lemonade budget, we found nothing wrong with this hotel at all.
“Food disgusting”
Start with the positives. Hotels clean. Pool good. Rooms cleaned daily. Close to the main town. Negatives. Had to pay for a fridge. Don't speak hardly any English. Door keys had to be changed on many occasions and the food was a big no no. Disgusting in fact. No entertainment and when there was it was no good. No indoor pool. Rude staff. Came back with horrendous stomach pains. Book a room only and eat out would be my advice
“Lovely hotel in great location”
We booked this hotel on a late deal and upgraded to full board (no drinks or snacks). The hotel/rooms were basic but clean. The hotel is close to the shops and beach and there was also a bus stop across the road, which we caught to Tarragona. There was no kettle in the room but we took our own and bought a massive bottle of water from the nearby shop. The room had a small fridge and we paid 2 euros per night to unlock it. There was no Netflix etc on the TV but we listened to the music stations or BBC News. Some people at the hotel said the food was amazing and others said it was terrible! To us, it was just the normal hotel food you'd get. There was pasta every day with 3 choices of sauce, some meat stew (usually beef, chicken or pork), fish, a different type of pizza, pastry roll, rice dish etc each day along with chips, salad bar and dessert station. We bought bottled water (1.40) or Pepsi (2). There were queues to get in for food in the evening but not a big wait this time of year. Portaventura was an easy 15-20 min walk up the road.
“Lack of gluten free knowledge”
Not very helpful if you have an allergy so would stay away from the food if you are coeliac because the staff don't really know which foods are gluten free other than that everything else so far is fine
“Disappointing”
Stayed in this hotel 7/8 years ago. This is why we returned great hotel spotless rooms lovely pool area and bar area good location .But the food in the dining room has deteriorated badly bland flavours cold food mass produced not freshly cooked apart from evening's when it was fatty grissly meat cooked on hotplate. Microwave was in constant use .The fried eggs must have been cooked the night before cold and hard . Really disappointed. I know people will say "you can always find something to eat" yes if you like cold chips congealed pasta overcooked fish, chicken nuggets cold stodgy pizza. Won't be returning here until food reviews improve which is a shame because everything else is good.
