“Lovely rural feel to this location in a property full of charm”
The best

This is a very nice rural hotel on the edge of a small village, ample parking, nice breakfast and the communal areas are well kept and full of character. The staff were welcoming and pleasant. We were late arriving and we were let in late by a very tired host who was up handy the next morning, it has a family feel as you see regular faces and they all appear to work very hard. The pool area is very pleasant and was never busy, permanent shade over the loungers is a welcome addition or you can be in the sun if you wish. The living room is a nice touch and I enjoyed the general ambience of the whole place, quiet and serene.

To be improved

I was a bit underwhelmed by the room, this was advertised as a suite which to me means a separate seating area and I mistakenly thought the balcony in the photo was private, when actually that's a view out to the common outdoor area. There is also no avoiding the drain smell, others have mentioned it and it was still an issue July 24, perhaps they will one day sort it because it is a shame to spoil such a nice place.
