Hotel Casa José Díaz

Very miserable greeting from front desk as a start. Room was very small barely enough room to walk around the bed and window shutter blinds closed on entry. Impossible to open blinds and when actually prised them open by about 15 cm the view was of a derelict builders store yard so not surprised they wanted to hide that! Only two wall plug points one in an inaccessible place under the desk and the other in the bathroom over the sink. The worst room I have ever stayed in !!

Restaurant and bar. Staff great but dinner was expensive and the steak we ordered was inedible. I requested my steak to be medium and my wife requested medium rare. What we were served was a large platter with sliced beef, large bone and lumps of fat; the meat was burnt on the outside and raw in the middle. Perhaps that is how Spaniards prefer their steak but not to our taste. However the prawn starter was excellent (and large enough for 2 people!) and the ice cream dessert was also excellent. Another disappointment was that they did not serve tapas with wine in the bar, not even as an extra cost! We had to leave early to catch the ferry and therefore had to leave before the restaurant opened so can't comment on the breakfast.
