“Superb”
Lovely old building which used to be a girls' school. Rooms are huge, we had a view of the garden to the rear. The garden was a pleasant place to sit during the hot weather (see photos ). Generous continental breakfast. Friendly resident owner and staff. Very close to historical centre.
Noise from neighbouring guests, especially on the top floor above us.
“Beautiful restored school in the heart of Liérganes”
Amazing and beautifully restored old school in the heart of Liérganes. The rooms are huge and comfortable with antique furniture in keeping with the building. We had a lovely view of the garden from our double room and a kettle, which was nice. A good Spanish style breakfast is included with croissants, toast, cake (sometimes homemade), jams, fresh orange juice and tea/coffee.
Personally, I'd have preferred a few savoury options and some fruit/yoghurt for breakfast. Because of the age of the building, soundproofing is non-existant - our neighbours above sounded like a herd of elephants until 2am. Disappointing as I'd booked for the quiet (which the area is). Highly recommend a second floor room. Odd that double garden rooms have a kettle but front twin rooms do not?

“Relaxing escape in this magical boutique hotel by the river”
The location in Liérganes is magical. I have wanted to stay for a while. Finally made it happen in July. The hotel is a beautiful building rich with history. I loved the small house next to the river to read. Playing croquet in the walled garden. The brother and sister who run the hotel were friendly and told us about the history. Showed us the family chapel. Rooms were spacious and lovely. Bed was very comfortable. Great to walk around the village in the evening or early morning as it’s so peaceful. I will be returning again without doubt.
Only thing to improve could be the breakfast. Allow guests to choose which pastry for example. Add some fruit or egg option. We have stayed in many smaller inns and the selection is more nurturing. The presentation however is great! The experience was special. Loved the dishes and dining room. Wish it was warm enough to enjoy outside as well. And if you are a light sleeper or plan to sleep in, it’s an older building where you can hear people in next room. Did not bother me and it goes quiet to sleep at night.
