Hotel Castillo

Our room was good and everything worked well and did what we wanted and needed. The room was facing away from the motorway so was quieter.

Is a Hotel for passing the night with a very good price. You get plenty of free parking lots, and all the very basic needs for a room (clean, shower, dryer, full sized bed) but don't expect fancy stuff such as a fride, coffee, smart cards instead of regular keys for the door, etc. I understand that despite the hotel is next to a highway exit, our room was pretty well noise isolated, so no highway noise during our stay. It is 35 minutes away from San Sebastián - Donostia, and was our best affordable HOTEL option with queen bed (full sized bed, not 2 individuals together) that we found. It has 24h reception in case you need anything at any time. We didn't took the breakfast and we don't regret as it is not worth it, you have a restaurant and a cafeteria where you can buy for an affordable price whatever you want. Lastly I would like to highlight the good attention we got from the staff and also everything was clean.

Modern decor, large comfortable bedroom, with air conditioning. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and they were both tasty and excellent value for money. The 3 course dinner with wine and coffee was 17 euros each. The breakfast was simple but you could help yourself to whatever you wanted and was just 4 euros each.

The hotel was ideally located on the edge of Olaberria and very close to Beasain. The nearest train station was only a 15/20 minute walk away in Beasain. The hotel staff were incredibly helpful. The room was a good size and had decent sized bathroom too. Plenty of storage space for clothes & bags. The carpark was a good size always plenty of spaces free. The onsite bar/cafe was good and the food was nice. We didn't venture into Olaberria (in hindsight that was a mistake) but we did go out in then evenings into Beasain which had a lots of little bars serving great Pintxo! All in all a great place to stay for exploring that area of the Basque region.

The bar ladie and the gins we had was 4+ stars very nice.
