“Disappointing experience”
Newly renovated with attractive interior finishes. Updates still to come include gym, bikes
A necklace of mine seemed to disappear from my room which marred our stay
“A wonderful journey”
It was a wonderful holiday with the family in this perfect hotel. We enjoied Toledo, that we could overview from our balcony. The staff was very friendly - whom to mention? Miguel? Alex? It was the whole staff that made the experience exceptionel. And the owner of the hotel, Adolfo: He is a very famous star-cook with his restaurants in Toledo and Japan. He cooked for us local specialitys - I recommend you the "fried pumkin flowers" and served us several of his wines, that he produces in the yards surrounding the hotel and were sold in some of the best hotels of the world. (You have to try the "Pago del Ama", that will flavour even more after eating some olives). For the days you don't want to enjoy Adolfos regional haut cuisine I recommend you the restaurant in the "Alcazar" of Toledo. (Free entrance for restaurant). Rent a car to be independent and visit the windmills of "Don Quijote" in Consuegra, the famous El Escorial and the wonderful museums in Toledo (parking place next to the city-elevators). So - if you want to feel the spirit of Spain, enjoy it!
“Beautiful weekend away with lovely views”
Nice views, rooms decent size.
The pool needs more bartenders
“Avoid at all cost! Much better and cheaper hotels in Toledo”
The room was adequate, but there was no view of the town as advertised. We had a view of a carpark! Overall not worth the cost.
1) The food safety is incredibly poor! I am 17 weeks pregnant and it is was dangerous for me as a pregnant person. Waiters had no English at all, so we were translating simple things like cook the steak well (no blood etc), eggs well cooked (not runny); I had to send my food back 3 times as it was not safe to eat. This is very disappointing and worrying. We have raised the concern about food on 4 occasions, and there was no alternative safe food provided. There is a complete lack of care and safety related to food standards. 2) Very very limited food options. Lunch menu is the exact same as dinner menu, and way overpriced! Our lunch on our first day cost us €100 and was distinctly average and small portion. Breakfast has ZERO choice Monday-Friday. They put stale pastries, cold eggs, pre-cut fruit and cured meats etc on each individual table. There was no cereal or yoghurt etc. Saturday was a normal open buffet, with the option to choose fried egg or plain omelette (no option to include normal additions like ham etc.). 3) Pool only opens 12.00 midday. No waiter at the pool during the week so pool bar isn’t open. 4) No on-site manager to speak with
“Disappointing.”
The hotel was clean.
NO private toilet in suite - had to use the toilet in the reception. Went for breakfast, asked the waiter "how are you", he answered "room number", i tell him, then i make my coffee and take a seat. Waiter comes back to transfer me to an identical seat in an empty restaurant. Couldn't order poached eggs, as no chef was on duty for breakfast. Breakfast appears to be prepared in advance and is disappointing. No coffee / tea amenities in the room. Only option is the restaurant, where the coffee is to be paid for. You may have to make it yourself. Restaurant is mostly empty and you can't find staff. Staff ignores DND-signs on door. The hotel doesn't allow you to bring food into the hotel, as other reviews suggest. Your options are the restaurant or the 10 minute drive into the city. No shops close by. Location is remote and you'll need a car. No gym, no working stations, no desk in room. No indoor lounge areas with view over the city. Staff recommends the "entry" of restaurant, where there is no windows, if you want to sit with your laptop. Very disappointing, no real value for money.
