Hotel Civis Luz Castellón

Excellent hotel and price. Very dog friendly, with bowls and bedding provided, plus a park close by. Very easy to find, with 2 levels of secure parking, plus some on street. Had dinner, and it was superb. Fantastic fresh, quality food, prepared and presented very well. Top service all around. The junior suites are large, and excellent value for money. A few cafes bars n restaurants within a couple of mins, but not much else. Perfect stopover hotel

I'll start with the positives- the proximity to the train station is a huge plus if you are arriving by train. The very best part of the hotel is the restaurant! The food is excellent and innovative while the staff are amazing! It's rare to have hotel food this good. The rooms are very clean and good sized. Now the less than positive: The front desk staff seem indifferent and bored, quite the contrast to the hotels in Valencia we stayed at (Helen Berger, Westin). They could definitely kick it up a notch to make guest feel welcome rather than an inconvenience. The location by the train station is good, but the neighborhood for restaurants isn't the best. My biggest complaint is battling the room thermostat that seemed to always return to a very warm temperature in the night that makes sleeping difficult.

We stumbled upon this hotel which is located across the road from the train station. It is centrally located with restaurants and shops in walking distance. We will definitely book to stay there again

Some 15 minutes walking time to the center of Castellon. Hotel is modern, rooms are large. Reception staff somehow bored, not really interacting with the guests. Restaurant was ok for breakfast, but a dissapointment for dinner. Very harsh and impolite service staff.

My family and I stayed in Hotel Luz for one night on New Years eve 2022. We actually live in Castellon but just wanted a quieter night away from the noise of the late night celebrations. Upon arrival we bumped into the departing Valencia football team where my daughter was fortunate enough to obtain a few selfies with many of the players. The fact that all teams from around Europe stay here when they have a match against Villarreal is an endorsement in itself. We were greeted at reception by Renata who was very polite, professional and friendly and asked if we could have a quiet room. She informed us that this was no problem and so we checked in. Our room was much bigger than we expected with a spacious living area with sofa bed, a kitchenette, dining area and good sized smart TV. The bedroom was also very spacious with its own TV also. The bathroom was very big with double sinks and a full size bath with shower. One great point is that the room was spotlessly clean so credit to the cleaning staff for an excellent job. As for the quiet room? Well, for all the time we spent in the room we didn't hear a single sound from inside or outside of the hotel. It was absolutely bliss. We didn't use the dining facilities so are unable to comment on this. Our stay at Hotel Luz was perfect and I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.
