“Beware of this hotel Staff are extremely rude and threatened to call the police if you dare to make a complaint”
We booked this hotel as we were excited to return to this magical village as our first trip was so special. I arrived at the hotel all was well until we go into the room. We were met with a rather unpleasant smell, but the worst problem was that it had an ant infestation. I went to reception and spoke to Celia but rather than an apology and an attempt to resolve the situation I was met with the most unprofessional and rude hotel staff member I've ever dealt with. her attitude was "if you don't like the room and want to leave then leave" I pressed her to speak to the manager which initially she said she would and then after she changed her mind and said no I'm not going to because she was not happy with me for some reason (I still don't understand why) When I pressed her about making a complaint and getting a refund she basically said tough you have to speak to Expedia. She did however give me the name of the hotel group manager whose name is christian but she refused to give me his surname and when I pressed her on this she got more and more frustrated and threatened to call the police and have me arrested. We were so shocked with how we were treated that we left. We would not accept being treated like second-class citizens . With no hotel to go to our magical trip was completely ruined. We had to drive nearly 1 hour to find another hotel I was determined to make a complaint. I called the hotel four times to speak to the manager who refused to speak to me or return my calls and in the end the receptionist said that I would not be due a refund because the ants in the room were due to us bringing food into the room which was a complete lie. I called Expedia but unfortunately they were also unable to get a refund as the hotel manager continued to lie about this. This was by far the worst experience in all my life of staying in hotels all over the world and we only chose this hotel as it had lots of positive reviews. I would seriously suggest you do not stay in this hotel as the staff are highly unprofessional and do not know how to deal with difficult situations. They resorted to telling lies or threatening to call the police
“When I go back to Tossa De Mar I will stay at the Delfin.”
Staff friendly, helpful, and front desk could speak English when our Spanish dropped out. The hotel is located right where you want to be in Tossa De Mar. Other hotels we stayed at did not offer a pool towel, but Delfin does offer a pool towel. The pool is up on the roof with a bar and second seating/ tanning area. The elevator was larger than other hotels we stayed at in Spain. The bath room had many amenities common in the US, but no so much in Europe. For a middle aged person who has stayed in many hotels around the world I would stay at the Delfin again.
Parking in Spain ( Europe in general ) is a pain. The good news is there is affordable parking available in Tossa; other places in Spain cost over double. For some reason pools ( all hotel pools we encountered in 4 different places ) close at 8PM; I wish the pools stayed open longer ( guests being respectful of the nearby residents ). Air conditioning barley cools the room. If you are going to run an AC it might as well work and cool the room ( Europe in general has a BIG problem with air conditioning in the summer time ). The AC at the Delfin worked better than all other places we stayed this summer.
“excellent stay”
We enjoyed very much from all aspects of our stay reception, rooms, breakfast and even parking all was very good. we will be back
“Wonderful”
It was the best hotel I stayed at on my trip to Europe (at least so far... lol). The location is perfect, just steps from the beach, across from the city's main street. The staff is very attentive. The room is incredible, spacious, with two separate bedrooms for a group of three people and three different balconies. The breakfast is delicious, with a wide variety of food. The only thing I miss is freshly squeezed orange juice.
“Excellent”
Amazing hotel. The staff are so helpful and nothing is too much trouble. We stayed in a spacious family room for four . The pool area is beautiful and relaxing The restaurant is immaculate and very stylish - Fabulous food and a huge choice for breakfast. All freshly made We cannot fault this hotel Thank you Hotel Delfin for a lovely break
“Great hotel and lovely staff”
I can only agree with vast majority of reviews that I have read. My family spent the last ten days at the hotel delfin and will definitely be going back. The rooms are lovely and despite over looking a main street it was peaceful and quiet at night as long as you closed your balcony doors. Literally a two minute walk to the beach and restaraunts the hotel is in a great location. The rooftop swimming pool was great and my Autistic son absolutely loved his time there. Many thanks to the lovely staff - from the receptionists , catering staff ( breakfast was great) , bar staff and cleaning staff - they made our stay all the more better. Hopefully we will be back next year Many thanks Tony and family.
