“Great little hotel with amazing staff.”
Very friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble, especially when one of our party was ill. Very clean rooms and public hotel areas. Would definitely stay again.

“Hostel more than hotel. No fridge. Cheap.”
Located south of Ronda, in a rural location, by a quiet main road. Views, mainly fields and hills. Goats clank by each morning. The car park is large and free. The reception, bar and restaurant all look clean, trendy and pleasant, inside and out and there is a full menu (though food is cheaper up in Ronda). The trendy little bar is very cheap - water 1 Euro, a 0% beer for 2 Euros, amazing Mojitos with fresh mint (2 for 9 Euros up to 7pm, 6 Euros otherwise). The pink ones in the photos just mystified them - previous owner possibly? The bar gets used by the locals and by passing tourists. The swimming pool is lovely - plenty of padded loungers. In July, there were relatively few people using it. It is quite far from the main building, through a run down garden, behind the run down tennis courts. Pool towels are available (though another couple were told they didn't have any). Air conditioning was good. The beds were comfortable - the pillows were cheap. We ate in the restaurant, once. They didn't have the chicken, the salmon was excellent and the Secret Iberico pork was nice but there wasn't much of it. Though "out in the sticks", there are supermarkets on the industrial estate, a few miles up in Ronda - Mercadona, Aldi, Lidl, Dia (water in Aldi is 23 cents and they do a very good sensitive sun cream) and the Saveco one is open on Sunday.
Ronda is a couple of miles away, you need a car. There is a bus stop outside but I don't recall seeing many buses. The room wil remind you of the type of hostel you stayed at, on a school trip. It is pretty faded and basic. Our main bugbear was no fridge - ridiculous (but apparently common in Spain) because the unrelenting heat was around 35 degrees every day. A cold drink in the middle of the night is not an option when the bar is closed. No kettle, tea or coffee. You buy any drinks at the bar (though they are relatively cheap). We bought a kettle and some cups. The actual room is a contrast to downstairs. It is huge with a bathroom at one end - basic walk-in shower with white tiling and a small shower head. The glass sink has a tap with a very slow flow of cold water (the hot flow and shower flow are fine). The square toilet has an oval lid. Two comfortable single beds, a desk and chair and an open cupboard and bedside shelving for your clothes. The long mat was faded and the "soundproof" padding behind the bed was useless as you could hear everything going on, outside through the thin wooden door which was quite hard to open. The electrics looked marginally dodgy too. No English TV channels on the small TV (predictably). Staff were lovely and very friendly but struggled with English as much as we struggled with Spanish (the barman was fluent though). A tiny bin is provided which they empty each day but they don't change the towels or bedding at all (4 day stay). Do not open the windows, in the evening as the flies come in, including the biters. The chair was useful to remove the 50 or so who popped in for a meal. Windows kept shut after that. The pool is a distance from the main hotel and you have to walk outside and round. The hotel seems to be run on a shoestring with a small number of staff. Not much like the photos and looking a bit tired but it is cheap and friendly, it just needs a fridge in the rooms.
