“Very good mid-range hotel in a great central location. Would suit solo travellers/couples.”
This is a standard 3-star hotel offering en-suite rooms at reasonable rates. At reception they were helpful and allowed early check-in and baggage storage on day of departure which, for serial travellers like me, are both major bonuses. The room itself is reminiscent of the small boutique business hotels I used to stay in when working in Brussels many years ago. Furnished very much in that style, the room provides everything you'd expect including a comfortable bed, A/C, minibar/fridge, a good clean and well appointed bathroom and plenty of clothes storage space. The hotel itself is in an excellent location in terms of access to the centre and main sites of Valladolid and local transport hubs.
As is often the case with very centrally located hotels and holiday lets, there is a trade off between the great location and the noise levels in the evening. Hotel El Nogal is situated on a street with a number of cafes and bars and the street itself is a link between busy parts of the city so there is inevitably some street noise at night. That said, it was nothing excessive and seemed to die off at a reasonable hour. I had no trouble sleeping anyway.
“Great location in a nice city coming to life on a Saturday night”
Very central location near La Plaza Mayor. Spacious room with two double beds adjoining.
Nothing to dislike
“Good base for exploration”
Breakfast not available. Close to Plaza Mayor - good.
Hotel was fine, but the weather was awful
“Staff and location make this a great choice of place to stay.”
Staff were amazingly accommodating and the location was great.
Room was a little too hot.
