“Practical and simple hotel near station”
The best

I chose hotel Goartin for my first night in Malaga, as I was taking bus early the next morning. The location is good, a short walk from the bus and railway stations. There are several supermarkets and some restaurants nearby. My room was simple but rather new. No complaints about cleanliness. The bathroom was nice and clean, too. My only complaint is about the noise from the corridor and the neighbouring room. However, in Spain it's very usual that walls are thin.

“Beware of ants infestation”
The best

The hotel front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating. When I asked for an electric tea kettle, they provided it, which was a nice addition to the room's facilities. Also, the hotel is close to the train station, which was important for my travel plans.

To be improved

The hotel is very simple and basic. By itself, there is nothing wrong about simple and basic. However, this hotel also had an additional problem: a major infestation with ants. I stayed in two different rooms, and both rooms had the same problem: lots of ants. There is simply no excuse for insect infestation in a hotel. There are plenty of modern ways to get rid of this problem, yet the property owners do not seem to be interested in solving it, as reviews mentioning ants go back for years. It felt like some third-world hotel because of that. I am sorry, but I cannot rate a hotel with ant infestation higher than 7 out of 10, no matter how friendly the front desk staff was...
