“Beautiful hotel in a fantastic location”

The best

A fabulous stay in a beautiful location. We received a warm welcome on arrival. We arrived early so our room wasn’t ready, we were able to leave our bags in the bag store. Reception gave us a map and a brief of where to go in Toledo. We should have asked about the mechanical stairs which are located next to the hotel as that would have saved our legs a little, instead we enjoyed a wander through Toledo’s beautiful streets to reach Zocodovar square. The hotel gardens, pool and general shared areas were beautifully kept, clean and tidy. It’s used as a wedding venue and you can see why. Situated within the city walls there are photo opportunities at every turn. Our bedroom was spacious, clean and well kept. Beds were comfy, towels and dressing gowns provided. Breakfast is a buffet with continental options and a menu to order eggs and bacon. It’s help yourself but staff are a call away and are constantly topping up. We’d read a few negative reviews and were cautious about booking as we can be a bit fussy with our hotel stays, we needn’t have worried, the hotel was in a great location, good value and we were told by two groups of people visiting that food was also delicious! We’d read even managed to visit just before the pool closed in mid-September. We would definite stay again

“Absolutely GORGEOUS hotel in Toledo”

The best

I (we) had one night in Toledo passing through - after some searching found this absolute GEM. The hotel is built within the walls of the city, entrance through an arch into some beautiful mature gardens (with water features). As a keen gardener I was certain in awe. Friendly staff in reception who provided access to the room (even ahead of the check in time). Room was quite a walk from reception and numerous flights of stairs - did notice a lift available for those with lots of luggage or difficulty with movement. Room was lovely, bathroom fantastic (with an array of cleaning items) and nice views. Breakfast was delicious and you can choose from the list of what you wanted cooked. Plenty of cold buffet options available also. The bar area situated within the restaurant, lovely seating area inside and also terrace seating available. Able to get plastic to take to one of the 2 pools - 1 within the walls and 1 a rooftop pool (both shown in photos). Hotel was quiet, no issues with noise - lovely scenes from the pool overlooking the city rooftops. 2 options to get up to Toledo centre itself - turn right outside the hotel and follow the road round - up the hill and takes you to the Alcazar (some bars and restaurants on the way) - or alternatively, take a left and there are a number of escalators for those not wanting to walk as much. Didn't sample the food on offer in the restaurant so can't comment on that. Usual offerings available at the bar. Without a doubt I would stay in this hotel again - provided a romantic setting but ideal for friends & family also (or indeed a wedding, which the hotel were preparing for).

Good location, lovely old historic building with beautiful outdoor areas, staff very welcoming and helpful, and recommended a fantastic nearby restaurant.

To be improved

Certain days of the week, there are no bar or restaurant facilities. So was not ideal after a long road trip to find we could not relax and have drinks and dinner at the hotel. Not even a coffee. Also there are 2 pools, but they have not utilised the space well, with few loungers or comfy seats, so there was no room to chill and relax here either.
