“A complete rip off”
We booked this hotel in March for a late August stay - two air conditioned rooms, river facing for 200 euros, on Booking.com. We arrived and were informed that, in fact, there was no air-conditioning and put in rooms facing the parking lot. The check in was chaotic - “self check in” which didn’t work so we had to wait for someone to showing and let us in. A hellish night in small, stuffy with small children. Particularly galling given that we had recently spent stayed in an excellent, central, spacious, air conditioned hotel in Cáceres for the same price.
“Have stayed in better places”
The room was clean and so was bathroom. Chose room without carpet as those smelled damp. Not all rooms air conditioned which didn't help with the heat. In my room 2 out of the 3 roller shutters did not work or open properly. The staff were very helpful and friendly though, could not fault that. If you are not looking for anything fancy, just somewhere central and clean, then do stay here.
“No wifi at all!”
And they did not apologize for it. In fact, I think we should have had a discount for this, since it was not easy to find a wifi spot in the city. Other than that, it was ok. Good location, friendly staff. I would stay again, but asking for a good discount.
“It's ok... if you don't expect too much”
This is a good hotel, but you get what you paid for. It's ok for short trips, but if you plan to spend a longer time in Medina, I would recommend a different hotel. Positive was that the hotel room was spacious. The interior was quite basic, but yet functional. Wired internet is also available and worked very well. Wireless internet is only available at the reception. The building is old and should be renovated. Hotel staff was friendly, but did not speak English. This made communication difficult. The location is ok. It's a good 15 Minute walk into the city centre and a supermarket is nearby. However, bear in mind that Medina del Campo is a "dead" city and there is not much possibility to do anything in the evening.
“Surprisingly Good”
We stayed here as a stop over hotel. It looks as though it's stuck in the 80's, but I have to say the staff is very helpful and this was the biggest room and bathroom we had during our entire 3 weeks in Spain. They offer free parking and free wifi in the rooms. It was clean and close to the plaza mayor. We had dinner at Monaco 1962 and had a delicious menu del dia. The castle is less than 10 minutes by car. Overall, I recommend it
