“Good stopover.”
This is a small hotel on the small central square in the old town. They have a coffee bar attached, but it was closed when we were there so no breakfast available. Rooms have an old traditional feel and are in reasonable condition - they could do with a fridge. Easy free parking in the square. NB Reception doesn’t open until around 9am, which could be an issue if you want to check out early.
“Basic. No finesse.”
Perhaps after staying at the 2 star Hospederia de Cuenca we were utterly spoiled with it offering effectively 5 star rooms with beautiful thoughtful touches. Well none of that here in small room 206 situated at back. Ok in Cuenca we paid 20 euros more per night. Still in 2019, the owners could put a bit more effort into their offering at Hotel la Villa. The mattress was comfy. The bolster pillow too hard for me and as shared, I was stuck with it. No optional soft or individual pillow. Never again will I take a bed with an iron bedstead. So uncomfortable when all one had, to watch TV or read a book, is to rest against it. And even the slightest movement made the frame creak. Which brings me to noise through the late evening and night. As floors all tiled we had the constant loud clip clop of shoes above and in hall, and flushing of water draining down from higher rooms. Very basically furnished. One extra blanket which we needed. Virtually no decoration. Fairly clean though chrome of loo paper holder and taps looked like it had had the most cursory of clean, if any. Had an air-con / heating unit. As March, we were able to park in the square immediately outside (once we found the hotel navigating the narrowest of lanes in the old town - very poor signage). If you go during a busy period, enquire where to park. No breakfast so can not comment on food. We walked out of the old town for excellent tapas and for breakfast, which begs question why we didn't stay in a the newer town in the first place....
“Little Gem”
We stayed at Hotel La Villa for 1 night for the wine fair at the end of August. The hotel was set in a beautiful square that was hosting the medieval fair. The rooms were immaculate and furnished in a typical Spanish style. Both the room and the bathroom were excellently maintained. The host was a very friendly person who made us feel right at home. We will return at some stage. Probably for the sausage and wine fair! Great value for money.
“Lovely hotel”
A gorgeous little hotel in the perfect location. The lovely man at the reception will show you the underground wine cellars. Very clean. Quiet. Perfect for a stay in Requena. We arrived very late in the evening (much later than we’d informed them) and they were super accommodating.
“Lovely place to break our journey.”
The hotel is set in a small square where you can park your car safely and for free. The old town is fading now, but still lovely. Reception isn't staffed all the time so you need to let them know your approximate time of arrival. If you don't, it's not an issue since they have a bell to call someone. Our room was of reasonable size and had a Juliet balcony overlooking the square - very nice. Old style furnishings and very clean. Good air conditioning. Pity they didn't have a fridge. Breakfast is extra in the hotel's restaurant - we didn't take it. Overall, good value and a very pleasant relaxed place to stay.
“Good overnight stop Location”
The Hotel is in a small square in the "old" part of the town. Staff very helpful, and enjoyed a evening meal outside in the Square. Pretty narrow streets surrounding the Square to explore. Dave and Sandra
