Great location, next to the city walls, easy access to all attractions. The room was comfortable and clean

To be improved

The shower head needed replacing a long time ago (Room 101) as the water didn't come out like a normal shower which meant it was difficult to stand underneath. Also other guests were very noisy during our stay, shouting from one room to another and slamming doors.

Excellent location just outside the city walls so easy walking distance to centre/bars/restaurants Secure parking next to hotel for €20 per night - well worth it

“Great room , terrible check in”

The room was very nice , all I needed and very comfortable, I loved the balcony I had as well, which had a great view,over the countryside around Avila .The bathroom was well equipped, and shower had good pressure,and hot easily regulated water temperature . Location of the hotel great as well .The lady at reception was friendly.

Before arrival , I said I'd probably arrive around 3 pm on the bus from the airport. The reply" if you're not here by 5pm you'll be left outside ," extremely uncaring , which , after a transatlantic flight was a very anxiety provoking .possibility. On asking about the door code that I'd previously been informed was available, they informed me it wasn't working and I HAD to be there by 5 ..which seemed , frankly bullying , it's not my fault that the code isn't working. They only said they'd wait for me when I complained vigorously to them and booking .com . As it was, the bus didn't get in until 6 pm, and there was staff there to check me in ..at a time that's completely normal and acceptable to arrive at,a,hotel anyway . Maybe they have now altered this, but beware .. if you're planning on arriving after 5 .I was appalled at the initial attitude , especially as there was no cancellation option, and they'd already taken my money .If I had been "left outside " at 6 pm I would have contacted the local police because its totally unreasonable to do this , they have a duty of care to their guests . Other than this. Well, terrace hadn't been cleaned from people before , strewn with cigarette butt's, n often reception not manned , n few facilities but , small concerns compared to actually being " allowed in."
