“Wouldn’t stay here again The staff need training in customer service, and the beds and pillows were terrible”
The location was good and the building itself was lovely.
The staff were unfriendly and couldn’t be bothered. They didn’t welcome us, give us any information and hardly spoke. The beds were rock hard and the pillows were like pancakes.
“my home away from home”
Just completed another month in a Lauria apartment, my Iberian home away from my American home. It never disappoints and, like Tarragona itself, never gets old. I like the 3rd floor apartments with terraces: even if I don't need the second bedroom, or the weather doesn't invite hours outside on the terrace, the sense of space and light are worth it. (and the rates are a bargain, anyway) Shout-outs to Eloy and Paola, who over the years have become like family.
“No mirror mirror on the wall!”
Hotel Lauria is in a great location and is a lovely hotel with stunning features. The staff were lovely and really helpful with any queries we had. My only negative is that although the rooms and bathroom were extremely comfortable and clean, there was no shelf in the shower which meant that you had to pick your shampoo etc up off the floor which could be difficult for some people. Also there was no other mirror in the room other than in the bathroom which was really inconvenient as a couple getting ready. I know they are not massive problems but they are ones that are easily and inexpensively sorted and I do feel they let the hotel down.
“Well located apartment in hotel”
We stayed for 10 nights in one of the apartment rooms with a view - part of a large old converted house, 10 minutes walk from the station, 5 minutes from the old town and a minute from the Mediterranean balcony. The apartment was large and well-equipped with a view onto Rambla Nova. We stayed during the Santa Tecla festival and it was noisy outside on a couple of nights - though that's entirely to be expected and best to join in the festivities! The pool area is reasonable, with more beds than the online photos suggested. It's surrounded by the building or high walls, and in September there was around 5 hours of sunshine daily, so the pool was cool. There was a free-to-use laundry room, which was handy (though the room gets very hot if using the tumble dryer!) We believe we stayed far longer than most people do, so were a little frustrated that they were not prepared to clean the apartment or change the towels even once while we stayed without paying an additional charge. Overall, that was a minor annoyance though and we'd consider staying again if in the area.
“Nice Hotel! Great Location”
I recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a pleasant experience. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made check-in and my stay smooth. The room itself was clean and comfortable, and the communal areas were also well kept and nicely decorated, which gave the hotel a good atmosphere. One of the highlights was the location, it was excellent, with everything I needed within easy walking distance. This made getting around really convenient and added to the overall enjoyment of my sta However the downsides were that, the entrance and corridors had an unpleasant smell, which wasn’t the best first impression. Thankfully, this issue didn’t carry over into the room itself. I did try the breakfast during my stay, but I personally wouldn’t recommend it—especially for guests who don’t eat pork, as the options felt limited for the price. The coffee was also not to my taste, as it was quite bitter.
“Amazing! Best hotel of our tour.”
What a find, we loved this hotel. Booked 2 nights in Tarragona to end our little tour of the area and this came uo at a good price in the location we wanted. No idea what is like in advance and very happy now. The real wow factor was walking in, attached a pic as we loved it. Location: Perfect, walking distance to everything, the romantic ruins, the old town, cathedral etc. And on rhe Ramblas so always a bar open nearby. Not noisy at all on an evening Cleanliness: Spotless, everywhere Rooms: We had a standard double, and it was massive. So can only imagine what an upgrade would of got us. Fridge, massive bed, nice terrace, great shower with waterfall head. Pool: Didn't use it, but looked great, very modern and inviting. No crowd, but simply didnt have time. Food: Unsure as we didnt eat here, but nearby many restaurants providing excellent food. Staff: Very welcoming and helpful, everyone was wonderful. Would stay again, infact already booking to bring my Mom for her birthday next year. But will stay 7nights minimum as so much to do.
