“Really weird cleaner”
The man at the reception was nice even though we did not have a common language. The price was reasonable. Free motorbike parking in a monitored garage. Deck chairs and a swimming pool with a couple of turtles swimming in there. Functional WiFi and air conditioning in the room.
No fridge in the room. Nobody in the staff speaks English, which is honestly stated in the hotel description. The statement about soundproofing is dishonest though, as everything can be heard as if there were no walls at all. Fortunately it was not too noisy a place. The main reason for my lowered rating, however, is the behavior of the cleaner. Every morning she came in to my room without knocking the door and when she noticed I was in the room she said something in Spanish and ran away so quickly I never got a chance to ask who she was or what business did she have in the room. On the first day I seriously thought she was maybe a burglar. One time I tried to run after her to ask what the matter was but she had already disappeared behind the corner. One time someone knocked the door but when I said "yes", no one came in. Just like in the prank of wretched school kids. I think that kind of behavior is really rude and childish. Even if there is no common language, I'm sure there would be other ways to communicate if only we respected each other. On the last day, when I was leaving and carrying my stuff out of the room, I met the cleaner in the corridor. Every other member of the staff had always said 'Hola' to me when we had met, but this cleaner, who had shouted something in Spanish to me from the door of my room every day, didn't say anything at all now when we actually met. We passed each other silently.
