It was also a very loud location. People outside loud until very late. Seagulls on building in front loud from very early. Of course , these are not under the control of the hotel, but I didn't get much sleep.”

“Beware: Bed Bugs”

Bed bugs confirmed — hotel blamed me and gave a generic AI-style response. At around 2:00 AM, I found a baby bed bug (nymph) crawling on the curtain—not on the bed, and not on my belongings. I had just arrived, hadn’t touched the bed, and had kept my bag sealed and elevated in the bathroom, off the floor. I carefully inspected every item I brought using a flashlight before exiting the room. After spotting the nymph on the curtain, I checked the bed and found more bed bugs under the neatly folded sheets in a separate bed—unslept, untouched, and in a different room from where my bag had been. I collected them in a cup to photograph, then flushed them to avoid spreading the problem. I reported the issue, left immediately, and was forced to sleep outside in the dark streets of Finisterre, because no taxis were running at that hour. The hotel refused to refund me and later sent a corporate-style, AI-sounding response claiming: • They didn’t find bugs during a later inspection • I must have brought the bug in myself • Their cleaning protocols are perfect That explanation is both dishonest and laughable. Bed bugs do not only live in mattresses—they hide in cracks, furniture joints, headboards, even light fixtures, and they track human heat signatures, especially around sunrise, to feed. A nymph crawling at 2:00 AM, followed by visible adults, does not suggest a “hitchhiker.” It clearly indicates an active infestation. I’ve worked in environments where bed bug prevention is critical. I know how to inspect, isolate, and document. The suggestion that I brought this in is insulting and false. Avoid this hotel. The bugs are real, and the management’s response is a joke.
