Hotel Marte

This hotel is pleasant and nice apart from….. THE FOOD IS COLD, COMPLAINED SEVERAL TIMES TO HOTEL MANAGEMENT & restaurant staff BUT THEY DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!! Cold food in the SAME DISPLAY as HOT food!!!!! Ended up with food poisoning and violently sick constantly for two and a half days. I’m sure they will listen to Environmental Health. READ OTHER REVIEWS AND BE WARNED!! - DO NOT USE THIS HOTEL.

Good value for money, but a little tired. We booked a Superior Room, with balcony, but it wasn't exactly'superior', good enough, very clean, and well maintained, but a bit tired. Balcony was just a small jut, no room for furniture. We did breakfast, which was standard, nothing exciting, often a little cool. Good position, quiet, good for most things. Staff were friendly and helpful. All in all, basic, but good value for money, would definitely stay again.

Hotel Marte has an ideal location 5 mins walk for bus station and into the main area of Puerto de la Cruz with supermarkets and a laundry next door. The staff are very nice the hotel is spotless as are the rooms if there was a gripe its that the walls are pretty thin so you can hear anyone particularly noisy but overall it was fine soundproofed rooms would make it a 4 star. They do an evening buffet for 11.90 euros per head which is superb value for money as you basically get a 3 course meal and there are lots to choose from so there is bound to be something to eat for any taste. Breakfast again plenty of choice but food could be hotter. There is also a pool at the top of the hotel which gives you great views of the surrounding area. Overall this is a really good hotel at a decent price.

The hotel was close to the amenities and hotel staff were lovely and friendly ,that’s all I can say good about the place .We booked half board. The food was not that nice it seemed to be the same thing every night for evening meal and was always cold . There was a microwave in the restaurant which we had to use every night to heat our meal up . Chips every night . The food wasn’t labelled so some of it we didn’t know what it was. We had to buy our drinks to go with our evening meal, we thought that would be included. The bar in the communal area was never open ,there was no tea coffee served . If you wanted a hot drink you had to go out . The room was awful and the view from the window was even worse . We were suppose to have a terrace or balcony instead we got rusty bars at the window looking out to a building falling down . This hotel should be a 2 star and that’s being nice.

I was worried initially, but from the moment we arrived the staff were so helpful and friendly. The hotel was spotlessly clean and very well laid out.

The hotel is located very close to the main bus station, very practical. The staff has been very friendly, reception is always present and free luggage storage after the checkout. There was a book about the city in Spanish, so a peculiar attention to the local history. The interiors are vintage, quite tidy. The breakfast was included and served in an interior garden. I would recommend for a short staying.
