Lovely room in great location with comfortable bed ,safe,kettle etc and an excellent breakfast but the soundproofing is terrible and you cannot get a good nights sleep as you can hear so much from other rooms,

Clean and modern rooms
I had specifically booked a room with city view. My booking confirmation said "view on a landmark". When I arrived I received a room with a window to a dark and narrow courtyard. Upon immediate request for a room in the category I booked, I was told by the front desk that the hotel was fully booked and that I should come back the next day after noon, when people had left. As I was in Madrid for business, I only returned to the hotel at around 17h,. I was told by the person at the front desk (a different than the night before), that I should have come to speak to them in the morning, so they could hold a room with a view. I should try again the next day. As that was my last day and I didn't have the feeling as if the staff were at all interested in assigning me dufferent room, I did not ask a third time the next day. Also, the breakfast room was always completely empty when I was there (at different times each morning), so either the numerous other guests taking up all other rooms renounced on the breakfast or they did not exist. The hotel refused a partical refund,. Although it's a nice hotel in principle, it won't see me again.

Location - close and easy to get to the major attractions in Madrid
Location - very noisy, a bit dangerous The room was renovated at the time of our stay This way my 11 years old son and I were exposed to chemistry and toxic substances used in renovation I have been offered with another room, but next following day. So, we had to stay full day and night with toxics. The person at the reception was not customer oriented at all and instead of solving the problem she was arguing with CUSTOMER - this is not acceptable! She only talked and excused herself and the hotel, she did not listen to CUSTOMER, she interrupted every single sentence CUSTOMER tried to express himself. Additionally, the next room offered was at low quality level. Last night it was very loud and noisy in the hotel, even after midnight, we could not sleep because of noises. How can it be to arrange the party in the hotel and expose the other customers to the noise and inconveniences. I can’t understand that approach. Madrid is a fantastic city, people are very nice. But this hotel is very bad one. The personel should habe been trained and become more customer oriented. CUSTOMER pays their salaries at the end, so they have to understand they need to satisfy the CUSTOMER instead of attacking him. There’s no business with unsatisfied CUSTOMER. Period.
