“Hotel ran out of hot water so it was a total write off stay!”
There was no hot water! The whole hotel ran out of hot water. This is totally unacceptable. Then when I called reception at 7:30am from my room's phone I got my call diverted to a Movistar mobile phone which then nobody picked up and went to voicemail. That is also totally unacceptable. The room door can't be locked from inside (for security). Despite having a console to control the air conditioner unit this couldn't be set from the room and required a reception call (first time in my life I need to call reception to control the temperature of my hotel room). Then after asking for the room to be cooled I couldn't lower the temperature from the room. The next day I was told the min AC temperature is set by the local authority yet in my stays on 3 other Galician hotels I was able to set the AC lower than what this hotel did not allow me to set it to.
“It was good but the staff seemed nervous and tried too hard”
Breakfast was good
The chemical smell was very strong in the sheets. They should switch to natural detergent
“Enjoyable 2 night stay”
The hotel complex has an elevated position with two access roads -one of which is easier than the other when dealing with heavily loaded touring motorbike. So the best one is where the Hotel Nande is signposted from the main road. The spacious grounds are delightful. The evening meals were excellent and incredibly good value for money. Breakfast comprised both savoury and sweet pastries, orange juice, ham, cheese and freshly prepared eggs. Staff are very friendly and pleasant. We had the benefit of the hotel hosting a wedding party which added an extra to the ambience.
Our room was very spacious but lacked a opening window so was difficiult to ventilate during the night. Also the window blinds had become a little mouldy which maybe didn't present the hotel in the best light when being shown your room.
“Outstanding”
Everything. Excellent place!
Nothing
“Sorry to say but I won't be going back”
The beds were big, soft and extremely comfortable to sleep in, the car park was satisfactory no issues there, and there was a decent walk around the property and they accept dogs. Dinner is a 3 course meal plus bottle of wine for €20 each which is quite reasonable but the house wine is a bit young. The waiters are polite, knowledgeable and on the ball.
A bit of a disaster, the first night we arrived our room door was black with mold as were the other 3 rooms beside us, the room had no windows that could be opened for ventilation and the air was heavy with mold, i couldn't sleep the whole night, I could feel my face was itchy and my breathing was great for a while after. I made a complaint to reception the next morning & although they were nice enough to relocate us to another room on the 2nd floor that did have windows, my overall experience was disappointing. These 4 rooms are units in a L-shape beside the main house and were guests who have dogs stay which i understand but the ventilation design of these units is flawed. Also, while I'm on this subject the main house itself is architecturally a mess, when you drive up from the main road there is no big sign telling you there is hotel only a small road sign that you don't see and if you don't have google maps then you are screwed as you will drive by it altogether. When you finally arrive and having parked your car, you will find that you're in the back of the hotel and not the front, it's confusing as nothing is signposted, we were not the only people who had this issue. The breakfast is such a let down, fruit is prepared to early and by the time it reaches your table its brown or mushy, cheap ham and cheese straight from the packet, the pastries are from mercadona not freshly baked but the matchbox size you buy in a bag for a euro. Coffee was weak, the juice was concentrated juice which is not what i expected to find in a 4 star hotel, their only saving moment was the scrambled eggs they cooked, slightly undercooked but I was past the point of caring. The bread basket is full of small pieces of chopped up baguette that is grilled not toasted. Inedible it was so hard.
“A wonderful stay”
This is a gorgeous hotel set in beautiful countryside half an hour from Vigo. The gardens and pool are lovely and well maintained and the rooms are well equipped, with comfortable beds and great aircon. We had an excellent dinner which was remarkably good value. Breakfast was also very good and plentiful.
Everything was perfect
